We visited this restaurant with friends when we visited Northern Virginia in June. They chose it because the chef is knowledgeable about gluten free. Our friends are frequent visitors to this cafe, as it is one of their favorites, and we now understand why. Our server was very attentive, and was able to make great suggestions about gluten free entree... More

My husband and I had dinner here on a recent trip to the DC area. We didn't have reservations but the Cote d'Or was literally in the back of our hotel's parking lot. The staff was very welcoming and very thorough explaining the menus and specials. We sat on the enclosed porch next to a gas fireplace, very cozy! My... More

La Cote D'Or Cafe is a few blocks from the East Falls Church metro stop. The restaurant has cute decor which reminds you of a quaint cafe in France. We ordered the barbecue sandwich special, the Croque Madame and a strawberry tart. The barbecue had a sweet flavor, the Croque was a bit too rich for me and the tart... More

Went there for brunch with husband and friend. The service is so so. The food is very good - nothing innovative but I do get tired of exotic combinations that I really don't want. If you hanker for crepes, pate, snails, etc give it a try for lunch.

Our party of three was very satisified with the luncheon meals we ordered. All three dishes (one was the lunch special) were very good. However, it took what appeared to be the only server considerable time to take our order and then even longer to serve it! Maybe the kitchen is slow, but the waiting time was far too long.... More

The one star is for the attentive service ONLY. The food is less than run-of-the-mill and the prices are unbelievably high for the small portions of what you get. Then there is the decor. We sat in the porch room with its shade that didn't work to block the sun, the bare light bulb without a globe and the globe... More

La Cote is just a few yards from the Econo Lodge on Lee Highway. Ordered the Brulee, Coffee favored Ice Cream & Chocolate Mousse dessert. The servings were on the small side, bit expensive, however tasty. I ate the dessert slow to be able to enjoy it. Would I return, possibly, but would order a larger portion. Jack L., Syracuse,... Falls Church is known for its ethnic restaurants. La Cote D'Or is unabashedly French. Decor, cuisine and ambience transplant you to the French countryside. Just do not look out a window to Lee highway. The menu has both standards and seasonal dishes beautifully cooked. The chef has a good hand with fish. Three pepper soup is a visual delight. Apple... I was 100 percent pleased with the food and its quality. I especially LOVED the French bread, which is hard to find so mouth-wateringly good. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service was good, and again, the food was excellent. I had the mushroom crepes, and could eat them all over again.

We went here recently with two other friends. We have been here several times before and enjoyed the food. The portions have never been huge here but the quality has been good. On this visit the food quality seemed to have slipped. On the positive side, the restaurant accommodated us on selection of where to sit. Also you can park... More
