Tara Temple is a great place. They serve Japanese Sushi and Thai. Odd combination but it works. Both cuisines are well prepared and delicious. The restaurant draws a large happy hour crowd...discounted beer and select appetizers. Because of the large crowd, it can get very noisy. Go to happy hour with some friends and enjoy yourself. You'll eat well.

This is a great place to go if you're just looking for a simple Thai meal. Nothing will knock your socks off as far as that side of the menu is concerned, but if you have a craving for drunk noodles at to be delivered at 9 PM, this is your place. The two or three times I have dined... More

Having visited Tara Temple (Tara Thai) for more than a decade, the restaurant continues to offer excellent, diverse and authentic cuisine in a relax, chic environment at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is very convenient to the Metro and a number of major government office buildings. I highly recommend Tara Temple for authentic, excellent Thai dishes. The restaurant is located... A pleasant restaurant with somewhat confused service when confronted with a large group (had trouble keeping track of who ordered what). Food was good though and value was excellent, particularly after ordering the appetizers off of the happy hour menu. Convenient to a bunch of the government agencies and big companies in Ballston.

This is excellent Thai food in a chic setting. I was at first hesitant to try Tara Temple after reading the reviews, but now, I can say that is one of my favorites in Ballston. I high recommend this restaurant. Miso soup, curries, and pad thai are all excellent. If you ask for spicy, you will get spicy!

This place has amazing, LARGE, yummy sushi probably the best around. It’s very affordable and sexy environment. I’ve been a few times and it’s always so great…HOWEVER, this past time there was a mouse in the center of the dining area when the place was packed. I felt that there must be many more for there to be one out... More

Management's Response It's good to know you enjoyed our sushi and that you will return. I regret the overall dining experience didn't exceed your expectation during your last visit. "If you see something, say something'. Best regards, Kanta K. More

Under new management explains the recent transformation. The vast Asian menu and attentive service made a late night with friends and evening to remember. Thank you new management.

This place is more like a club than a restaurant so the seating isn't very comfortable and the sushi bar ran out of rice once when we went there for lunch! What sushi restaurant runs out of rice?!?! During another visit a cockroach was seen at the sushi bar by one of my coworkers. The day they ran out of... More
