My wife and I had dinner at the Lebanese Taverna restaurant in Arlington. Since my mother was Lebanise and I grew up on that cuisine I always search for Lebanese food when I travel. We ordered some of the traditional dishes including lentil soup, Kibbe ( basically lamb tatare ), stuffed grape leaves, tabouleh, and everything was very good. The... More

My husband and I had dinner at Lebanese Taverna last Sunday. It was delicious. I had the whole sea bass. It was perfect. The fish was fresh and perfect seasoning. This is much better than the whole fish at Kingfish restaurant in Boston (Todd English's restaurant). We ended the meal with a Molten Chocolate cake. The cake is so moist... More

The Lebanese Taverna in Arlington, Va, is nothing special. We had their fish special, mahi mahi. The tiny little square fillets were overcooked and dry. The accompanying lentils appeared to have been scooped out of a kettle and plotted on the plate. They, too, were dry. The garlic hummus was bland. The bill reflected prices associated to much better quality... More

We visited this restaurant a few years ago and enjoyed the food. So, this was our first stop upon arriving in Arlington for a weekend vacation. This time around the food was pretty bad. My husband is Lebanese and we eat Lebanese food at least 2x/week. I don't know what they're serving at the LT but it ain't Lebanese food.... More

Lebanese food can be too dry and tasteless, but certainly not the case at Lebanese Taverna. I have been to both the Arlington and the Tyson's locations, and both have excellent food and a nice atmosphere for conversation and an enjoyable meal.

You can't go wrong here -- even if you order the Lebanese wine -- and the service is always excellent.

The Lebanese Taverna (originally opened in Arlington) spawned a mini-empire of Lebanese Tavernas in the Washington Metropolitan area. Having grown up in the Middle East (7 years in Lebanon), am passionate about the food of the region. The food at the Lebanese Taverna is so authentic and beautifully prepared that it make you think you are in Beirut. The fine... More

This very kind and gentle family shamelessly offers expensive fare that street vendors in Beirut sell for peanuts... still, D.C. rubes lap it up. Caveat emptor.

I have a first-generation American friend (family from Beruit) who says this is the ONLY Lebanese place she'll go to! Everything is so fresh and flavorful - just love it!

On the recommendations of family members, I accompanied friends to the Lebanese Traverna and am glad that I did. While we had made dinner reservations for a later time, once we arrived at the resturant, we were greeted like old friends and shown to our table with little fuss. Our waiter was great, the food wonderful and the atmosphere relaxed.... More
