Food is excellent but service is slow.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch (around 4 pm) on a Saturday. Although there was only 1 other table of 2, it took over 25 minutes before our appetizer (Kategna) arrived. About the Kategna itself: sneakily spicy according to my wife but very good. For our entrees we shared an order of... read more

This was my first time ever eating here (and first time eating ethiopian food) and it was delicious!!! I don't know how authentic the food is, as I have never had it before, but everything we got was sooooooooo good. There were a lot of natives eating there so I would assume it is authentic. The tea with the cinnamon... More

Maybe Ethiopian food isn't really my thing, but I found the food to be just okay. I am not going to visit it again. On the bright side, the atmosphere was very great, probably a nice place for dating, social activities, etc. Service was fine.

On a street packed with restaurants of mediocraty, on our first visit we had to inquire as to what cuisine they served. Our first experience with Ethiopian food was enhanced by a helpful staff that walked us through the offerings. After our meal, we inquired about the bread and found it wasn't the authentic Teff. The owner promptly made us... More

My experience at Enjera was the least satisfying Ethiopian meal I've ever had. After placing my order for the meat sampler, the plate took exactly 45 minutes to arrive (without any contact from the otherwise friendly staff), was mostly cold, consisted of five dishes that each possessed a single taste, and ultimately cost twice as much as any comparable restaurant.... Set along a street chock full of restaurants, in the Crystal City area of Arlington VA and just a few blocks from many major hotels, this cozy restaurant serves wonderful Ethiopian food. I shared the vegetarian combo for two with a friend, which included about six different dishes served atop a huge round enjera... if've you've not had Ethiopian food,... More

I've dined at most of the Ethiopian Restaurants in the DMV area and I must say this is ranking at the top for me. The restaurant is small and cozy. I found the waitstaff to be very nice, but a little slow at times. I overlooked this because they were bust during the time I visited. I ordered the meat... More

We introduced our 11 year old to Ethiopian food at Enjera. We loved the family style dinner and really enjoyed the attention we received from the staff. We ordered the combination of the vegeratatian and meat lovers platters. Loved the location and recommend that the owners recover the red mutiple people seats. They show wear.

If you like Eritrean/Ethiopian food, you should be happy with the experience at Enjera. For a new taste experience, it is easy for the uninitiated to take a delicious epicurean plunge. The menu leads you through and the pleasant wait staff are more than happy to guide you. Order it family style - it is convivial and you get to... More

We were visiting the area, and Enjera was close to the Arlington/Crystal City hotel district. It was one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I've been to: dishes were a little sweeter than the ones I've had in California, but the kitfo (on the raw end of rare) and the lentils were very tasty. Teff injera is available as well as... More
