The food was on point for Russian cuisine! The understated ambience lends to the feeling of eating in a Russian home. The service is slow, but I wager the wait staff are family/friends of the owner (and likely overwhelmed by the popularity). I loved the dinnerware (heavy blue china from the... read more

This place doesn't deserve the customary 15% tip one is supposed to add on to the check. Food is relatively good but I found the use of salt on the lamb shank too heavy for my liking. Waiters are not friendly and service really haphazard. Glasses of water appeared after 15 minutes followed 10 minutes later by cutlery. Appetizer arrived... More

After a less than positive experience at the Mari Vanna Russian Resaturant, I decided to give Russian food another try. Therefore, I went to Rus-Uz in Arlington, VA. The restaurant offers both Russian and Uzbekistani cuisine. Apparently, it's also the only Uzbekistani restaurant in the DC area, and one of a handful in America. I had to look up Uzbekistan... I lived in Uzbekistan years ago, and I love and miss Uzbek cuisine. We were looking for a place to eat and found Rus-Uz. It was a great discovery. The food tastes exactly as it should and I only wish we had more days in the area so we can go back and try different things. I tried chebureki and... More

My husband and I joined a friend for dinner on a Friday evening and we were impressed with the food and service and reasonable price. Parking is a bit difficult, so schedule some extra time to find a space if you drive.

We decided to eat at Rus Uz based on seeing this restaurant on the Washingtonian magazine's top 100 places to eat in DC. We visited Rus Uz with another couple and arrived around 4:30pm for an early dinner. As expected, the place was pretty empty, just one couple was there eating. We were seated and ordered. Each of us ordered... More

It was my first time and I and all my friends at the table were very impressed with the quality of all dishes tried. Manti and plov tasted exactly how they do back home in Central Asia! Service was fast and friendly and atmosphere inside is very comforting. I am happy about this discovery!

This was our second trip to Russia-Uz. Laziza our young friend from Uzbekistan has guided us well. This time Manti, Plof and Langmon were on our list to try. I tried Plof on our first visit. So, Langmon it was for me. We shared Manti as an appetizer. Both dishes were very good. The Langmon was a little spicy. The... More
