I lived in NYC for a year and a half, then I moved to the DC area. Worried I would not find comparable pizza, I did a search an came up with Pupatella. This place is magic. It's hard to get into and there is a long wait for your pizza because they are made to order, but it's worth... read more

You enter and order at the counter. Today I got the special "Fig and Pig" pizza (fig, prosciutto, brie, white sauce) for $16. They have bottled/canned sodas and juice, plus beer/wine, or free water set up in the dining room. This is a very casual place and you will see all kinds of people in there. There are limited parking... More

I was so very disappointed today when I visited your restaurant. My one year old daughter has a dairy allergy, so I called ahead to make sure the crust and sauce was dairy free. It is, so we excitedly made plans for lunch there with friends. When we reviewed the kid's menu, there was not anything on the menu that... More

This place is a must!!! A friend of mine introduced me to this place when I lived in Arlington a few years back. OMG, I have been hooked ever since. Every time I come to visit now I make it a point to go here at least once. The pizza is so good. The highlight for me is the wood... More

Nice staff in a causal atmosphere. Counter service only, food is delivered to your table when ready, while drinks (all) are reordered at the bar with receipt.

Go on off-hours. Go hungry. Everything is wonderful! The brussel sprouts! You must try them. All the pizzas are outstanding!

Getting your pizza is a little different, you stand in line, tell them what you want and then they bring the food to you, but it is worth it! They serve just one pizza size as far as I can tell. It is around 11" and it is just right for one person. They have good ales and their arancini... More

I am very lucky. Pupatella is a few blocks from my home and it is one of our regular 'go to' restaurants. And, it is awesome. Pupatellas started as a food truck. Then it moved into an odd little strip shopping area and had a narrow little store. Then it expanded and now occupies two store fronts. And, there is... More

The DC area was starved for years without anything resembling and authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. That's why Pupatella was such a revelation when it opened. Pupatella was tiny, cramped, authentic, and inconsistent, all of which made it welcome and charming. Now, years later, it's still cramped and inconsistent, and other superior places have opened in both DC and Arlington. Pupatella... More
