Fig and Pig- what's not to love?

Summer brings a lot of people to this popular pizza place but the pig [proscuitto] and fresh figs, summer fare, is worth a special trip. Eggplant and red pepper is excellent, too. All pizzas are good. Gelato is delicious. Chose wines carefully. Great family spot; I enjoy it with my family.

Pupatella's is easily one of the best pizza places in DC. The pies, which are perfectly sized for one hungry person, are the most authentically Italian pizzas we've had outside of NY. The crust is thin and crunchy in the middle and doughy on the sides. The ingredients are really freash, the home made tomato sauce has real tomatoes in... More

Here is how I now measure a pizzeria after going to Pupatellas... if I even hear the word "Margerita" my mouth starts to water. It is that good! Be prepared for long lines, somewhat rushed service, and on a 10 degree night, a drafty atmosphere. BUT - it is absolutely the best authentic margarita pizza I have ever had. I... More

Can you review a restaurant you've never been to? You can if you've tried to go 3 times and each time been told it would be over an hour wait. The first time, I was told by a staffer that I should look around, find a table of people who looked like they were nearly finished, and wait right next... More

I lived in Italy for about 11 years, so I know my pizza and this place is the real deal. While seating is super limited and it can be a fight for space on popular hours, Pupatella is the best pizza, consistently, I have eaten in the D.C. area. It is fresh, it is prepared to-order and delivered piping hot... More

For such a creative little trendy pizza place I was surprised that they don't offer a gluten free crust for at least one choice of pizza! So while my dining partner feasted on a diavilo pizza, I had a plate of brussel sprouts. If the brussel sprouts are any indication of how good the pizza is, it must be pretty... More

Best pizza in N. Virginia and as good or better than any in the DMV! Authentic Neapolitan pizza, highest quality ingredients, but it's the crust that sets it apart. Like many pizzas of this type, you best eating it fresh there right out of the oven; 15 minutes later it's still good, but not so different from the competition. All... More

This is the best pizza I had in DC area so far. It's very simple, fresh ingredients and incredible tasty. No weird sauces or ingredients. And the crust is perfect, very thin. My favorite is the one with prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. I also had a pistachio and coffee gelato that was very good. Not too sweet and smooth.

This restaurant serves authentic Naples style pizza. I lived in Naples (Napoli), Italy for two years and can confirm that this is authentic Italian pizza. I happen to like it a lot more than standard American pizza, but they are hard to compare (sometimes I think comparing real Italian pizza with American style pizza is like comparing oranges and tangerines).... There must be more Italian pizza restaurants then stop lights in Arlington - so I am not sure how this place was rated as one of the best in Virginia? Don't get me wrong, it was very good, but the best ? That being said it should be eaten on the premises to insure a hot pizza. Salad was nice... More
