I lived in Italy for about 11 years, so I know my pizza and this place is the real deal. While seating is super limited and it can be a fight for space on popular hours, Pupatella is the best pizza, consistently, I have eaten in the D.C. area. It is fresh, it is prepared to-order and delivered piping hot... More

For such a creative little trendy pizza place I was surprised that they don't offer a gluten free crust for at least one choice of pizza! So while my dining partner feasted on a diavilo pizza, I had a plate of brussel sprouts. If the brussel sprouts are any indication of how good the pizza is, it must be pretty... More

Best pizza in N. Virginia and as good or better than any in the DMV! Authentic Neapolitan pizza, highest quality ingredients, but it's the crust that sets it apart. Like many pizzas of this type, you best eating it fresh there right out of the oven; 15 minutes later it's still good, but not so different from the competition. All... More

This is the best pizza I had in DC area so far. It's very simple, fresh ingredients and incredible tasty. No weird sauces or ingredients. And the crust is perfect, very thin. My favorite is the one with prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. I also had a pistachio and coffee gelato that was very good. Not too sweet and smooth.

This restaurant serves authentic Naples style pizza. I lived in Naples (Napoli), Italy for two years and can confirm that this is authentic Italian pizza. I happen to like it a lot more than standard American pizza, but they are hard to compare (sometimes I think comparing real Italian pizza with American style pizza is like comparing oranges and tangerines).... There must be more Italian pizza restaurants then stop lights in Arlington - so I am not sure how this place was rated as one of the best in Virginia? Don't get me wrong, it was very good, but the best ? That being said it should be eaten on the premises to insure a hot pizza. Salad was nice... More

The pizza is wonderful. The crust is perfect, not too think, not too thin, just enough to enhance the toppings and crisp. The toppings are all fresh and not over cooked. If you have not tried this place, you are missing a great pizza.

How do I love Pupatella.... let me count the ways. 1. That crust - perfectly thin, appropriately charred from the wood-fire oven 2. Fresh fresh ingredients and creative toppings 3. Burrata cheese, when available, can't be beat 4. Margarita and Filetti are the best pizza for Neopolitan purists 5. EVERY PIZZA WE"VE HAD THERE WAS WONDERFUL - and we've had... More

This place is really good. Their pizza is excellent and although I know it is terrible for me, I can't get enough of their fried calzone. It is reasonable priced, and definitely worth the visit. It doesn't look like much, but I can assure you that it will be a pleasant surprise.

Pupatella is just west of Ballston along Wilson Blvd, on the left-hand side of the street as you drive toward Seven Corners. It has two storefronts, but you enter on the right, order and pay for your food, then seat yourself and wait for someone to bring your pizza to the table. Warned about the crowds, we arrived early for... More
