I used to love this place when it first opened and was highly praised by the Wasington Post. The Post cited the beef sandwich (Beef on a Wreck),the rolls which held the generous amount of beef, and the unique french fries.I liked it all and the fact that you could get a fountain drink of cherry coke. Then the changes started.First they switched... Thirsty Bernie struck me as a combination of a family restaurant and a bar. The food is quite pricy for the atmosphere. OK, but nothing special. We live in the neighborhood and ate once, but probably won't go back, given our tastes and the many alternatives nearby.

We've enjoyed Thirsty Bernie's on numerous occasions and have sampled many of the items on the menu. All of them have been excellent, especially the burgers and the sandwiches. Brunch is also great despite the fact that it can be crowded and noisy.

Been coming here for years despite poor service because of their good food and location. German items on the menu are the best - service level is below some fast food restaurants. Slow delivery, unapologetic management, indifferent (to the point where they seem blind) bartenders...done forgiving them and leaving them good tips in hopes of better service next time. I... More

Yes, the half-priced burger on Tuesday was good. No, the Old Bay encrusted fish in Fish and Chips war too encrusted. Yes, the fries, onion rings, and sweet potato fries were good, BUT nothing can repair the horrible service by the waitress. She was less that friendly at the beginning. They used to be dog friendly. We sat outside with... More

They try to use organic and even cure their own meats. We mainly go because they are dog-freindly. It has a nice but, small seating area outside. They also have specials like 1/2 priced mimosa on Sundays--always nice.

Ballpark prices on draft beer. A quick bite out turned into an $80 tab for 3 people. The food was mediocre. Will not return.

We ate outside and the service was great. They even brought a dog dish with water for our dog. The food was average and not over-priced. It's a good neighborhood place for a fun lunch.

A lady friend recommended this restaurant. She frequents the restaurant a lot. It was quite noisy the night we went. There are numerous wide screen tvs around and no place to sit if you just want to talk and catch up. The food was pretty good. My friend had some salad with chicken. She could not finish it. The seafood... More
