Extra-Virgin in Arlington, VA must have changed chefs or management or both. We have dined there several times, and twice before on New Year's Eve 2010 & 2011, and we loved every bite. This time, on 12/31/12, all of us at our table of 6 were very, very disappointed, and we will not be going back. The food and service... More

I had been to EV a few years ago with fond memories of good food and service. But a recent visit was a mixed bag with the mix leaning toward not so great. Had a goat cheese salad with dates which was excellent. But the linguine with clams was served with tough, overcooked clams with grit still in them -... More

Our business-related group dinner took over a good portion of this restaurant recently. We had come off of two incredibly disappointing group dinners at other restaurants due to really poor service and walking in, I was expecting more of the same. I was wrong. This wait staff was spot on: friendly, thorough, accurate and thoughtful. We couldn't have asked for... More

I'm still seeking to find an authentic Italian restaurant in the area. The food tasted good here, but that was probably because my squash ravioli was drowning in butter. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I'd love to love this restaurant, but the service is just not there, nor is the food. It needs some work at all levels to deliver on its promises, but Shirlington is a great venue.

I held the rehearsal dinner at Extra Virgin as it is my son and his fiance,s favorite. I'm from out of town now, so negotiated with them over the phone over a period of two months. My best hopes were exceeded! The food was wonderful, and the service excellent. They even managed to keep up with the kids who seemed... More

This is my local "go to" place for italian food. You have to try the Lasagna! It is huge and so good! Took 2 people to finish. they have a great happy hour too with a good selection of wines and appetizers to try.

Extra Virgin is a local restaurant in the Shirlington Village. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and profesional and it has a very nice, moderately priced wine menu. Depending on the musicians, the musical entertainemnt can be a bit loud, but on other occasions we found the entertainment fit the atmosphere quite well. Well worth a visit if you're... More

Visited several times, including New Year's eve. Nice live music and atmosphere. Had lunch there with mother's seniors group and they all enjoyed the food and location in Shirlington.

The food and service at Extra Virgin is stellar! You won't be disappointed in either. The menu offers something for everyone - no matter what you're craving - they have it covered - and it was the best meal we had on our trip! Cibo delizioso!
