Harar Mesob is a great little place in Crystal City’s “Restaurant Row” (23rd and S Eads in Arlington.) Never tried Ethiopian but looking for a culinary/cultural adventure without jet-lag? This place is a great option. While they also have traditional American-style tables with silverware, go for a great experience and try one of the traditional woven tables (the mesob). Order... More

After a long day, a group of us decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The veggie combo dish was varied, colorful, appetizing and delicious. The service was good and the price fair. This restaurant is well worth a try.

Live in the neighborhood and been here a number of times. Food is delicious! I tend to order the meat and veggie combo most of the time, or order the spicy beef tibs (the best!). The restaurant has Ethiopian mead (honey wine) and also Ethiopian beer - recommend trying them. Food is consistently good, and service is consistently slow (I've... More

Food OK. Wife ordered the vegetarian platter, which was good. I had beef which was not too good. I only ate half, and not being able to eat read meat due to my cholesterol, I usually an inhale at the opportunity. It was tough, grissly if that's a word. So, we would have just written it off as another place... More

Stopped here for my dinner. The place is a bit loud and not too welcoming. Even if you are not into exotic foods, the food here looks and feels authentic and delicious. While it is in America, diners are expected to eat with their hands (no cutlery provided). Asking where to wash my hands, I was shown to the toilet,... More

After reading the great reviews I was very excited to try this place out. We were in Crystal City for a family vacation. My family and I ordered the "sampler" platter and an order of the chicken and rice. The Chicken and rice plate was very good but the sampler plate was just okay. One of the lentil dishes was... More

We ordered a traditional meal for 2 and enjoyed the variety of different dishes. Enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as well.

This was my first Ethiopian food. good prices, outdoor and indoor seating, and great tasting food made for a great meal. I didn't try the desserts or coffees, but they seemed to have a good variety. Waitress was patient and in good spirits, helping us pronounce and understand the menu items. I plan to go again when I'm back in... More

I have never eaten Ethiopian food so on our recent visit to Crystal City we took the plunge. I was pleasantly surprised at our meal. We had the vegetarian Sambussa (a bit like a samosa), Awaze Yebeg Tibs (spicy lamb stew) and the veggie combo which consisted of small portions of red and yellow lentils, chick peas, tomato salad, potato... Convenient walk from my hotel but they have off street parking which is a plus in this area. Ate an enexpensive dinner but the lunch looked like a even better bargain. My partner and I had the combination platter for two but next time weare going to bring a couple of friends to help us finish it off! The food... More
