Service a bit stiff but will return

We stumbled upon this place while walking in Alexandria. We were lured in by the happy hour sign on the street. Overall, it was a good experience. The happy hour prices were very reasonable and the appetizer menu had some good options. We particularly enjoyed the wings and sliders. Our server was a... read more

Had lunch there yesterday. Had French dip. Very large sandwich and French fries. Ended up with food baby. Waiter was nice. Wife got a pizza. Not the best but good.

Looking around for Alexandria restaurants previous to my trip to the DC Metro area, I came across Overwood. My initial response to the menu was that everything sounded great! But it was the Monday Night special that really stood out to me! So I made a reservation for that Monday evening I was going to be in town with my... More

Our group recently enjoyed a dinner here, despite some initial bumps in the road. Our host had some issues with the restaurant because our menu wasn't what had been faxed & approved earlier and the room where our group was scheduled to dine had been given to another group. Once those issues were resolved, it took a long time for... More

Quiet and off the beaten path, this restaurant had something for everyone in the group. A couple of blocks north of busy King street, this was the perfect spot for mixing work with pleasure. The scallops were excellent, the Cajun inventive, and the steak a great value. Other reviews commented on poor service but that wasn't the case for us... More

I had the toasted ravioli, which was tasty, but the ribs (which they claim to be famous for) were atrocious! The sauce was good, but the ribs were so charred that there was very little edible meat that wasn't charcoal. Service was attentive, but not enough so that a server checked on the quality of my food in time to... More

Very unfriendly atmosphere and servers. Had to ask 3 times for bread. Salad and dessert were good, but I've never heard of grilled meatloaf. Evidently, they have. The salmon was about an inch wide and was very dry. The grilled meatloaf was a large serving, but not very tasty. Tables were a little dated and not comfortable. It was very... More

Great place to go for a quiet meal, off the beaten path that you won't have to sell your first born to pay for. Relaxed atmosphere, nice staff.

My husband and I go there pretty often for Brunch. We always sit at the bar. Although it is a little small, there are TVs for games and a few regulars who we get a kick out of watching. I am a vegetarian and my husband really likes "boy-food." This place works great for both of us. Sometimes I will... More

Went with friend to enjoy an evening before theater in Alexandria. Restaurant has excellent menu with wide variety of choices including fish. Wine menu was good. But the service was ridiculously disorganized and five waiters were non responsive. We requested our bill four times and when it was brought the waiter disappeared. After 20 mins I waived my arm in... More
