Good food! Nice atmosphere. Very close to shopping and Torpedo Factory.

We've come here a few times and the food is always good. You won't be disappointed. If they take you off to one of the side rooms, it will be a bit dead. I really prefer to be in the main area (the area when you walk in).

Visited on a Sunday evening, the place was quiet but the service was prompt and friendly. Generous servings, I especially enjoyed the Sunday special, chicken and mashed potatoes. I'm sure it wasn't diet friendly, but it sure tasted good.

We were a group of about 50. At least half were veterans of WW ll and the Korean War. The staff was ready for us. Great service and great food. Attentive and kept the coffee coming. Thank you for a great experience!

Don't tell my mother I law, but this was the best meatloaf I have ever had. I was almost not able to leave room for desert. We had a brownie with chocolate and vanilla ice cream for desert. Pizza is available for children.

This was the second stop on the DC Metro Food Tours' Alexandria excursion. We had a wonderful "Fried Green Tomato Tower:" Stacked, crispy fried green tomatoes with piquillo cheese and jalapeno aioli. The online menu says "finished with a gulf shrimp" - but our tour portions were not - and really it was not missed. Then we each had a... More

Had a delicious meal while visiting Washington DC. It's in a good location in Alexandria. The service was excellent & the ribs were amazing and tender. The key lime pie for dessert was lovely too.

Good brunch with some interesting specials posted weekly. The brunch menu offers traditional breakfast options but also lunch entrees. Our table of three enjoyed the Frittata, large salmon salad and ribs with fries on the side. More of a café than a restaurant, Overwood is a bit noisy so not as relaxing as other restaurants in the area. Very good... More

Very nice but not pretentious. Steak and crab cake was very good. Decent beer and wine selection. Service was quite good. A little pricey, but not unexpected for the area. Overall we were happy with our visit - and spent some time walking "old town" Alexandria after dinner.

Stopped by Overwood with the family. Used their online reservation system without A hitch. Only 1 block off the water with great parking at Thompsons Alley and Union. Quiet atmosphere great for having a conversation without yelling at each other. Had the smoked salmon and it was great. No wifi available it seems. The place was mostly filed with locals... More
