Fish 'n chips anyone? The best of the genre right here, especially when Grouper is the special. The only problem is that there is hardly any room, and you have to be lucky to find a place to sit. It can't make up its mind whether it is a take-out or a restaurant. But once you load up on the... More

The cod and chips are so good that this is where I asked my husband to take me for our fifth wedding anniversary dinner. We have been here numerous times, and every time the cod is perfectly fried and never greasy. The chips can be ordered regular or curry -- one large is more than enough for two hungry people.... Met my son for lunch here. It's a long, narrow restaurant with the food selections posted on the wall behind the counter. You order your food there, then sit at a table. All the selections are deep fried -- cod, catfish, and prawns to name a few. And fries (chips) as well. There are a number of dipping sauces to... More

First - Eamonn's is a joint. It is a fish and chips joint. All they do is fish and chips, and they do the best fish and chips I've eaten. Like the other reviewers I've had eaten more fish and chips in the UK than I can remember, but these are the best. Best batter, best cod, and last but... More

Yep this is the real thing. Anyone from the British Isles, Australia or New Zealand would recognize the quality and genuine nature of this place. Big chips - real potatoes - great cod all served piping hot. The "grease" is part of the flavor and it's not the oily crap you get in other places. Coupled with a fantastic batter... More

One of my favorite spots in Old Town. They use quality fish and a huge price of it too! I usually get the cod with the Marie Rose sauce (all the sauces are great though)! If you like Fish and Chips you won't be disappointed!

I am speaking as true Dubliner who has experienced Fish&Chips restaurants since I was a young lad. I have traveled all over Ireland and the World. Eamon's certainly ranks very high as a great Fish&Chipper. I have gone many times and every time I was not disappointed. Now here is something to think about before you start reading the bad... We stopped for a late lunch and we did have pretty big expectations, because Eammonn's was recommended to us, we left not sure what we received for the money. The fish was served in authentic style and was hot and crisp. The portion was somewhat smaller than we expected. The bottle of craft beer I selected was $7, a little... More

It is very good. It is greasy. You will feel the grease, but you will love the taste when you eat it. I didn't like the aftermath, but I did love the food. If you're from a place that specializes in the deep fryer, go for it!

Looked forward to eating at Eamon's but they were not very good this time. The fish was greasy & the French fries not crisp. Service was good & beer was cold but since we were there the last time food was not up to par. Maybe it was an off day or maybe the Irish chap was off that day.... More
