Drove from Annapolis to take relatives visiting from England and staying in Old Town Alexander to dinner. Chose Tempo because of the Trip Advisor reviews, and we were so glad we did. Also happy that we made a reservation because the place was packed on a recent Saturday night. A warm smile and welcome from the owner set the tone... More

Very nice restaurant that is largely undiscovered. Excellent menu with good variety of dishes, and some especially good seafood selections. There is excellent gazpacho soup as well for a really refreshing dish on a hot summer day. The seafood selection is good and there are good soups and salads as well. Lunch is a good time to go, not so... More

Do not dismiss this neighborhood gem of a dining place: outward appearances can be deceiving. Delicious food, attentive staff, great service, appealing intimate atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. Menu offerings are sure to please. We were introduced to Tempo by friends and it is now on our favorite list.

This little place calls itself Italian and French, but it's really Italian. Right off Duke Street (there is parking), it's not much to look at, but the inside is bright and pleasant. Service was attentive and helpful. We didn't get a broad taste of the menu, because we all had osso buco, which was really good - tender and very... More

My sister and I came across this restaurant while visiting Alexandria. What delicious food and wonderful setting! I had the Corvina fish and she an angel hair crab gratin, but were excellent. Our waiter was wonderfully charming and helpful.

This is my son's favorite restaurant and he takes us here every time we come to visit the DC area. We always are impressed with the service as well as the food. The chef's Mediterranean Italian menu offers a variety of unique and healthy selections. The owner is always making the rounds to make sure everyone is happy with their... More

With a small group of teenagers, we were looking for something affordable, but a little bit upscale. The hotel desk clerk recommended we try Tempo. We found them very accommodating to a few food issues, very pleasant and most helpful in choosing our meals. The food was outstanding, and the kids loved the atmosphere, and being treated like adults instead... More

This little restaurant is out of the way -but easy to find on Duke St toward Cameron Station. The atmosphere, service, and food are upscale. Seafood was well-prepared, just enough extras to show some culinary skill. The server was helpful.

After nearly 2o years this restaurant has never failed to please my husband and me and our guests. We are greeted pleasantly and the service is always prompt and friendly. Terrific fresh fish and mussels. Great fresh desserts, and nice wine selection. Be sure to head out west to Tempo and relax and enjoy a delightful dinner in Alexandria.

Tempo is my favorite restaurant in Alexandria. It is the best place to go for a romantic dinner or a good talk with a client or friend. Every client I have taken there has loved it. The food, which is prepared in the style of Northern Italy and Southwestern France, is consistently excellent. The fish is always fresh and beautifully... More
