Sun Afternoon Lunch

Stopped by after touring the Carlyle House. Neat little place with numerous beer selections. Quite a few unusual ones on tap, the rest were bottles. Food was good as well. I had a 10 in pizza and my daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. The menu had food and drinks named after people and places... read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit last night. The food was exceptional with a menu for all. And for the beer and cider enthusiasts they have a huge and great selection!! That staff was great, friendly and very curtious. I will definitely be back!!!

I can't describe how excited I was when we found this place in Alexandria. For any Lord of the Rings or Hobbit fan, this place is awesome. The Green Dragon Pub is adorable (I really wished I could have purchased one of their pint glasses as a souvenir), and they give you raisin bread at the table. If you're in... More

Eaten here several times and never been disappointed. They have probably the best selection of beer and wines (with several local micro-brews) in Old Town. The food was always delicious and the wait staff always friendly. The inside of the restaurant has many murals reminiscent of The Hobbit / Shire and is a nice pub atmosphere. Always an enjoyable experience... More

I had the virginia eggs Benedict which was poached eggs over biscuits and covered with sausage gravy. It was awesome and the bloody mary hit the spot. I'm happy we decided to eat brunch here, left satisfied.

This was one of my favorite haunts when I lived in the area. Unfortunately it has not withstood the test of time. What was once a whimsical restaurant with excellent food, Bilbo has devolved into a hodgepodge of poorly prepared food and staff that looks as though they don't give a damn about their customers. The beer selection is still... More

I have come here several times now with different groups of friends, and I have never had a bad experience, but it's never been amazing either. The beer and wine list is extensive!!! and the beer shrimp are good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I had the chicken provolone sandwhich with pesto, and we also had the spring rolls... More

It's been several years since I've been to Bilbo Baggins. Since then, it does seem like they've expanded their menu which is a plus. There were enough choices on the menu to please just about anyone. I had a pasta dish which was fine but nothing spectacular. Others in the dining party enjoyed their meals. Beer and wine selection was... More

Had the best time! Such a neat restaurant!!! Bar area is neat, and the upstairs is quieter if you're wanting a rest from the busy streets. Tons of super interesting foods and desserts! Way different than any restaurant menu I've ever seen! Extremely friendly staff and they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan friendly entrees!! The dessert menu is to... More

Great little local pub. The beer selection is great - if you don't know what you what, explain the type of beer you normally drink and they will help you out. While an extensive wine menu, the true highlight here is the beer. And the smoked pork belly BBQ is a fab appetizer or a small meal.
