This is a cute little tavern off the main drag. They have a large selection of beers and drinks. The menu has a wide variety of items. The food was average. It was fun looking around at the decor. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry.

We were visiting family in the area, and had a party of 7, including a 5-week old infant. We had a cozy lunch, everyone had what he wanted, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. We had a friendly, efficient server, and were not hurried, even though the restaurant was doing a brisk business on what was probably the first... More

I went there for brunch on a Sunday, and may I say that the stuffed French Toast is killer. What came to my plate was an enormous plate full of gigantic food (which is I guess how a regular plate would look if you were a hobbit). The caramelized apples were spectacular, and the outside was that perfect slightly crunchy... More

When I booked our trip to Alexandria I didn't realize this restaurant existed until I did some searching. It's just off the main drag of King Street, a super easy walk from the City Hall & fountain. Our hotel shuttle (Hampton Inn Alexandria) dropped us right off in front of City Hall and we walked the tree lined blocks to... More

Reminiscent of a "middle earth" pub, you can enjoy the atmosphere and friendly service even if you're not a Lord of the Rings fan. Our server brought out warm raisin bread as we sat down, and by the time we wolfed that down we weren't hungry for lunch any more! But we ordered and took most of it with us...too... More

Whether you are into the Lord of the Rings trilogy or not, this is a good place for dinner. The space is an old tavern and is a little tight. But the portions are generous and the taste is wonderful. our server was more than helpful and attentive. A short walk from the main drag of King Street lets you... More

Really good pizza! (Had the Shire). Cute little restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, just a few blocks from King Street. Very quick service, would definitely go to again!

My parents were in town and we decided to head out to Old Town for the day around lunch time. We walked around the waterfront area and I picked up a visitor guide. We were getting hungry and this restaurant which was listed on the map caught my eye. It seemed perfect since my young adult son was with us,... More

This place is a delight. The beer selection here is excellent - multiple craft beers on tap at all times. The bottle selection will undoubtedly keep you satisfied if what's on tap fails to satisfy your discerning beer palate. Far from having standard pub fare, the food here ranges from the mundane to the gourmet. The cilantro sweet potato fries... More

I've been to Bilbo Baggins twice for brunch. Both times I've ordered the French toast. It's nice and thick and topped with caramelized apples. I highly recommend it.
