Great atmosphere

Been going here for years, has creative menu and beer choices. Unique and charming atmosphere, a little quieter than other nearby restaurants and reasonably priced.

We frequent Bilbo Baggins about once a month and are never surprised by the aloofness of the servers. It is actually humorous now and a source of our entertainment. We go for beer and pizza and that's it. The calamari is pretty decent also. It would be nice if the attitude of the servers was some sort of shtick, but,... More

Decided to dine here after seeing an advertisement at my hotel. Being a big Tolkein fan, my wife agreed to it. Parking was difficult to figure out, due to us being from out of town. The seating arrangements were akward with my wife and I being squeezed into a very small table. Larger tables were available, but seemed to be... More

This pub is one of Old Town Alexandria's gems. The beer selection is outstanding and includes many fine Belgian brews not usually available at American pubs. The menu is extensive and the food excellent. The atmosphere is like a neighborhood pub in London. Prices are reasonable and service is efficient.

Walked into Bilbo and fell in love with ambiance - I'm from the Reno-Tahoe area where wooden bars and tavern-type joints are a plenty. When I moved to DC, I missed my joint! Bilbo Baggins has a fireplace in the bar, wooden walls, trucker-mouthed bar staff (awesome!) and pretty much anything from poor man's whisky to high-end anything. The beers... More

Upon finishing watching the Old Town fireworks display on the waterfront, we popped in for drinks. We were greeted with "our credit card machines are broken, so you'll have to pay cash or use a debit card..." Are you kidding? Guess that won't be reported as revenue for 12/31/15 or 1/1/16. We ordered one scotch on the rocks, which came... More

I was told of this place from a coworker. I am happy made the trip out. Normally when I go somewhere new I order the burger, because who can mess that up? While looking over the menu I decided to branch out and leave my comfort bubble. It was a very good decision. They were accommodating and where able to... More

Very cozy and inviting, if you are prepared to walk a few blocks beyond King St., you will be pleasantly surprised. They serve excellent American comfort food in a very comfortable setting for couples, families and groups alike.

I've reviewed this place before, and was quite impressed. This time, not so much. The beer list is long, though the service was not that great. The food seemed pretty widely skewed across the table. The dinner entrees looked absolutely perfect, and tasted great. I opted for the pesto-smeared chicken sandwich, and found it utterly devoid of flavor. Most people... More
