This afternoon we had our family Christmas get-together at Bilbo Baggins. (Yes, I know. It's the middle of January.) Over 40 people attended and we all had a really good time. One of my daughters worked with the manager, Garrett, for a couple of weeks to arrange everything the way we wanted it. They reserved a room for us. We... More

Our grandson wanted his birthday party here, because the name had him excited. This is mostly a place that emphasizes the drink list. Tried the special Hot Toddy - ok. Food was average. Not s long selection. Most days they do have pizza, but not 12/31 and we weren't informed when we made a reservation for a teen birthday. Service... More

Awesome beer list. Come drink here, go elsewhere to eat. ONE cabernet by the glass and it's terrible. Food is worse. Service the same.

This was the best meal we had while in Alexandria. I'm surprised by the other reviews. We had a great lunch which included an oyster Po Boy sandwich. Delicious! My husband and I returned for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the viener schnitzel with homemade spaetzel and Duck with delicious baked squash. I don't know about the pizza, but our dinners... More

There were five of us...a family together for the holidays looking for something good, something comfortable after attending the Christmas Tree lighting. We should have gone to...well anywhere else. I would guess that everything on our table, except for the lettuce, came from a frozen package. The pizza was tough and flavorless. The hamburger on a stale english muffin was... More

I hadn't eaten here in a few years. We took a friend to enjoy this place and was disappointed in both the menu and the food. While the French onion soup was still good, everything else was a touch soggy. Menu is just plain pub food now - nothing interesting. Server did a good job but the kitchen just didn't... More

I haven't been here in about three years. Took a friend who had just been sworn in nearby as a new citizen for a celebratory lunch, expecting something a little out of the ordinary. The service was good. One ding: we asked for a more full sugar caddy to go with our tea and ended up swapping one out ourselves... More

My boyfriend had spotted this place on Yelp awhile back (and as a huge LOTR fan) so we decided to spend his 22nd in here. Since we had never been before and it appeared upscale I made a reservation on open table. It was unnecessary. We walked in and were greeted by two girls who took us upstairs to sit.... More

In the movie, Bilbo says he's "going on an adventure" as he runs down the road to catch up with his friends. Well, going to this fine little pub is like going on a fun little adventure too. Walking in, you immediately sense the coziness and charm of this old but clean pub. Divided into two sections, the bar side... More

If you like to visit local dives and enjoy awesome food, this is the place for you. The restaurant is just 2 short blocks from the riverfront and the most popular tourist places in the city but it is quiet. I loved the old wooden stairs, floors and pub style decor. The food was so delicious and the coffee and... More
