Great for a Quick, No-Frills Good Breakfast

I have had some ok food here, but never good service or overall positive experience. I'm just really not ok with someone talking down to me, especially as a customer. There seems to be no organized process for matching people up with the food they ordered, and I got scolded for not hearing them say my name when my food... More

I have been eating at Bittersweet for years. I like the soups and the warm food bar. I do not think it is expensive and it is much better than Balduccis. As long as the prices don't inch up, this is my go to place at least once a week. I find the people very friendly there. The only thing... More

I've been a regular at Bittersweet for over five years now, for two reasons: It's right by my office, and the staff and service are always top-notch. The coffee is good and the breakfast options are great. The hot food bar is expensive, but no moreso than anywhere else. Some of the lunch sandwiches have left me underwhelmed, at times,... More

We called in here for coffee, as we like to support independents when we can. We weren't disappointed - the café was clean with a pleasant contemporary interior - it felt a good place to meet and spend time with friends. The food and cakes on display looked fresh, creative and appetising. They provided non-fat/skimmed milk or 2% milk options... More

I had breakfast at Bittersweet on Sunday with my husband and another couple. We went here because my friend has already been here and enjoyed their food and their coffee. The place has the feel of a quick service cafe. You order at the front, and either pick up your food to go, or they bring it to you if... More

I don't get some of the comments here, the breakfast we had was pretty good here. The atmosphere is quite nice as the building is historic and decorated nicely. The coffee was surprisingly good and nice and bold. The food was good, though the potatoes were a bit bland. The southwest scramble was otherwise excellent with nice flavors and spice... More

For good sandwiches and lunch-time far, the Bittersweet Café has everything you need. It doesn't excel for others of its genre, but it is reliable.
