Location

The location is the best part of this place. Right by the waterfront! The sandwiches were really good and they had something for non seafood eaters

Leave your rod and reel and nets at home. This is one of Old Town's very best for seafood. The quality is excellent as is the service. It is a pleasant but not necessarily romantic establishment. It can be very busy.

Very good happy hour ordered a dozen Oysters Bar Tender suggested their World famous Hamburger right on. He is extremely friendly and knows his patrons well including the new ones. Enjoyed my food.

I went here for the crabcakes - I was looking for the Maryland style baked crab cake. It just wasn't as satisfying as some I had had recently in the Baltimore area. They looked fried and were brown as were the roasted potatoes - the whole plate was brown. I was going to take a picture and upload it but... More

The Fish Market is located in a prime area of Old Town Alexandria, with many fun shops and activities to visit and do all around the restaurant. The restaurant menu primarily consists of fried fish options, but their fresh baked fish selections are limited, but they shuck their oysters fresh for you. The restaurant is a fun place to dine... We were going to have dinner by the waterfront but we thought the food was too overpriced. Less than two blocks away, we stumbled upon here. We were greeted and seated right away. We sat outside to enjoy the warm, summer air and people watch. We had the crab cake sandwich and lobster & crab cake salad club sandwich. See... More

So I rolled into Washington DC to she a friend for 24 hours and she suggested seafood. It was my first time in DC and I was excited about the experience. The monuments, the power and close to the President. Cooooool. I wanted something light but being the high class foodie.......and opportunist she whisked me off to The Fish Market... More

There's a certain welcomed smell when you walk into The Fish Market. It's a combo of an old (historic) building, oysters, beer and fun. This place has seen decades of happy hours, making mugs of beer and fish into laughter. Not the best food around. But, certainly a regular joint I frequent.

We had walked by several times and were finally lured in by the clean, fresh looking fish in the window. We went in for lunch and each had a fish sandwich. Wonderful, flaky and fresh and perfectly cooked. The soft buns were the perfect bed for the meaty white fish. Tip - ask for tartar on the side so you... More

We went here on the recommendation of a friend. We loved the atmosphere (think Cheers). The food was very good although some of the entrees were a bit pricey (to be expected given the area I guess). I had a salmon BLT and sweet potato fries. My meal was excellent. My son had a crab dish that had 1/2 pound... More
