The Wharf is just a solid restaurant. Really good food; reasonable prices; and exceptional service. It just doesn't get much better. And, oh by the way, I highly recommend the Cioppino -- one of the best I've had.

This restaurant is one of my favorites and for those two reasons at top. The food is consistently great everytime and the waiters are personable and on the ball! My wife and I ate here the other night and, again, were not disappointed. The Martini appetizer of lobster, crab and shrimp was a delight! A little pricey, but oh so... More

Visited with my sister and boyfriend for dinner on a late Sunday night. Our waiter, Giovanni, was attentive and engaging. We started with the Thai curry appetizer which was excellent. I had the fried seafood platter which was good but the catfish and oysters could use a little more seasoning. The boyfriend had the Norfolk trio which he said was... More

We had lunch at The Wharf and the service was really good even though we struggled to understand that waiter's accent. The food was good but a bit on the expensive side. The location is perfect, especially if you have been meandering down King Street from shop to shop doing Xmas shopping.

We just returned from a combination Business trip and mini vacation. We accidentally tripped into the Wharf and was first served at the bar and restaurant by Jessica and then Miguel. I cannot rave enough about this place and the service we received. The food was great and the service was exceptional. We had choices of other places to go... More

So how does one rate a restaurant with ok to good seafood preparation but lousy desserts? I chose ok because the finish for the meal was so bad...cold, curdled crime brûlée that was soggy, watery with a limp old sugar crust...cheesecake that was super sweet and only slightly redeemed by the fresh sauce...key lime pie that didn't wow. Plates went back... More

I've now dined here three times and have enjoyed everything I've ordered. I especially loved the North Atlantic Cod (with a side of garlic mashed potatoes), the Clam Chowder, the Crab Cakes, and our daughter's Onion Soup and Broccoli Au Gratin. The Jumbo Crab with Penne Pasta was on the heavy side but certainly tasty. Efficient and friendly service each... More

Sure, you can go to a trendier, hipper place if you're in Old Town, Alexandria, but if you want always incredibly GOOD food, great service, and a cozy, warm atmosphere, The Wharf is for you. In my opinion, they have the best crab cakes around. Delicious desserts, extensive menu and a charming, small bar to either start or end your... More

We had a family dinner at this restaurant and it was wonderful. Our service was excellent and the food was fabulous. I highly recommend. We had excellent appetizers and entrees. The shellfish dinner entree was super! Shrimp, scallops and crab cake... The service was great and all of our entrees were fantastic. This was our second trip to the warf... More

The food was good but the portions were very small and the prices are expensive. Dinner for four of us with a couple of drinks was over $250 total. Would have been OK if we had larger portions.
