The Wharf looks so inviting with sidewalk seating and the historic stone building but the food did not live up to the facade or the prices. We had a great table upstairs by a window and really enjoyed watching the King street view but the decor was nothing special. Dinner was around 100$ for two and was very disappointing. My... More

Wharf is a a pleasant experience to enjoy in Old Town Alexandria never a disappointment. Good service good food. My wife and I had dinner her not to long ago when it was cold and windy outside but warm and cozy at the Wharf almost a step back in time to early years of Alexandria.

We ate here on a Friday evening sitting outside at their sidewalk tables. We had crab cake and calamari apps. The calamari is fresh breaded and very good. The Crab Cake was outstanding. We had Blackened Ahi Tuna and Halibut entrees. Both were delicious! Overall a great meal with great service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the... More

It was our first night in Alexandria and my family, there were 3 adults and 3 children, were looking for a nice place to eat dinner as we were walking around King street. The Warf is an up scale restaurant and we were casually dressed. We asked the hostess if they could serve us as we felt under dressed and... More

We had a delightful early dinner at the Wharf in Alexandria tonight. I ordered the appetizer portion of bacon wrapped scallops which is a generous serving. The scallops were perfectly prepared, the bacon too, served on a bed of crisped onion straws with a maple soy glaze. The dish was a wow, a perfect blend of flavors and textures, the... More

The food was just ok at 8:15 at night. The service was great. The location is something to see. The price was high for the quality. $200 including the tip for 5 of us and one ordered off the kids menu. If I were to return I would try some where else.

We usually visit the Chart House but decided to give this place a try. Had to try the lobster. Not big on ordering lobster out but trip advisory ranked this restaurant pretty high. It was good but felt like I was wrestling with my food. It was hard to crack. Usually they have cracked it ahead for you. The shell... More

I like the location and ambiance of this restaurant. I can see why people flock to this place, the building is historic and it's in Old Town (doh). The food is just average though. I had the raw oysters and scallops wrapped in bacon for appetizer. For my main course, I had the cod and my husband had the fried... More

What an unmemorable meal. I had been wanting to try Lump Crab Cakes since arriving in Washington DC a few days earlier. They sounded really tasty and full of texture. They weren't. I'm not sure if that was just this meal or the crab cakes in general. My wife had a forgettable salad. The service was perfunctory, as if we... More

I was going to Washington D.C. every two months on business with some government Agencies. I usually stayed at a hotel in Old Town Alexandria, a day before my meetings. I usually dined at the Wharf Resturant with some of my business clients that resided in the area. The resturant has a upstairs dining room that is perfect for a... More
