Description: Restaurant Eve has one intention: to bring everything together in perfect...
Restaurant Eve has one intention: to bring everything together in perfect harmony-ingredients, cooking techniques, presentation, and that ephemeral, indescribable characteristic that we call soulfulness. We purchase from farms that share our values of quality and sustainability, and showcase the best hand-fed, farm-raised, organically grown bounty Virginia and the surrounding countryside have to offer. Herbs and fruits are gathered from our own garden and everything on our menu has a story, every ingredient is special. From the various offerings of house-made products (which include 7-9 various breads baked daily and artisanal cheeses); to the roster of craft cocktails, by cocktail authority Todd Thrasher; to our carefully chosen ingredients, everything signals a seriousness and reverence for the farmers, crafters, and all the culinary professionals who wish to bring you beautiful food. Restaurant Eve, named after the husband and wife duo's first child, is located in Old Town, Alexandria, listed by many travel sites as one of the most romantic towns in America, 10 minutes from Washington DC, Restaurant Eve is housed in a late 1800's historic warehouse that has been converted into a charming and sophisticated destination. The cobblestone path leading to the restaurant's entrance is lined with candles that set the tone of what is to come. Inside, the space is simultaneously stylish, cozy and refined-a place where special occasions are fondly remembered.

The menu is limited and tends to be over the top in foams and fuss. The staff also tends to be a little stuffy. Restaurant Eve receives a lot of attention for being a top dining experience in Alexandria, but I think that there are other places that are equal to or exceed the hype, like Brabo.

For those interested in fine cuisine, Alexandria's Restaurant Eve is as good as it gets in Northern Virginia. Chef Cathal Armstrong is a wonderful culinary alchemist who combines fresh seasonal produce with imaginative preparations. Such cuisine does not come cheap, however. The six-course tasting menu runs $135, and more still with wine pairings, though diners can also order from the... More

Eve is a terrific little place in Old Town Alexandria, tucked into a little row house building. Decor is very clean, almost Southern plantation style to me. It's elegant in an understated way. The food it excellent, I've eaten here a dozen times and always had a great meal. The service is always great, attentive but not overbearing. The manager... More

I surprised my husband by making a reservation to Restaurant Eve for his birthday where we enjoyed the tasting menu and the sommelier wine pairing course. They were both outstanding. The service was impecable and we felt well taken care of. We enjoyed all of the courses and found the food to be creative and tasty. The sommelier was very... More

Food was all delicious and presented very nicely. Attentive service from a very large professional wait staff, without being intrusive. Filipino Street BBQ (pork belly) was delicious and squash ravioli uniquely flavored. Only problem was the main courses choices were limited for us because 1/2 the choices were fin fish which my husband is allergic too, but they had no... More

I thought it was fantastic! We had NYE reservations, and it was amazing! We had the tasting menu - each choosing a different option so we could try everything. I loved the Hamachi ceviche!! Honestly, I could have done without knowing what Shoat is - and I could have done without eating it. That was the only thing I didn't... More

The food and ambiance were fantastic, the price was worth the quality of food, there were actually too many servers and staff for our table, entrees were placed in front of wrong people. Didn't bring out correct first courses, seem a little unorganized. A great wine list, and some interested twist on cocktails.

I love the location and the ambience of this restaurant but everything else doesn't work. There are too many servers in the front of the house and yet at times you can't catch a waiter's attention. We did the tasting menu, and the amuse bouche were the highlights of the meal. All the diners found the sweetbreads mushy and flavorless... More
