On Monday and Tuesdays dinners, they offer two entrees and an bottle of wine for $28.99+ tax and tip from a special menu. The selections are varied and the food very well prepared. If you do not like the special selection of wines, you can choose a wine from the regular menu at 1/2 price. Live music is also offered.

While strolling through another part of the city, I happened to come across LaPorta's. My only disappointment was that it was early in the day and the Jazz session started that evening! My servers were delightful, the food was delicious and my dessert, my dessert - oh my! Such a deliciously tempting presentation of carrot cake, and then the taste!... More

Went with some friends during "Restaurant Week" - special event for Alexandria - it is a chance for each restaurant to showcase either a $35.00 prix-fixe three-course dinner or $35.00 dinner for two (typically an appetizer, dinner entree and dessert). Between the 4 of us, 2 went a la carte, and the other 2 went for the special $35.00 combination.... More

We had a large party early on a Saturday night prior to the Billy Joel concert. The restaurant was very accommodating, opening early and setting up a table for 13. They have a very good wine list, with great wines at all price ranges. Both the chef and the sommelier stopped by to make recommendations and welcome us to the... More

Business lunch, and all went very well. Initial greeting from the hostess (Christina), our server (Lauren), and food was very good. Hanger steak, and the Summer Salad were choices for eats on this day. Location makes it a bit of a challenge for parking, but a minor frustration that really had nothing to do with this fine restaurant. I bet... More

Staff and food very good. We got smaller portion sizes. The night we visited the jazz singer, Janine Gilbert-Carter was performing. Smooth oldie jazz. Excellent singing. If in the area definitely a great place to stop in, enjoy a meal and music.

Had dinner mid week, wonderful service and great specials. Steak and fish were great. Desserts wonderful and service is attentive. Good place to go if you want to get away from all the crowds and you can park for free next door in an inside garage after 6 pm.

My husband and best friend ate here for a late Sunday breakfast. It was not busy at all and wer were seated right away. We ordered the French toast and two of us had the American breakfast. Our food came out quickly and when they forgot my grits on one meal, it was immediately corrected. The only thing that I... More
