Love this place - grew up near here and a must every time I'm around. Lemon chicken , beef with broccoli and dan dan mien are the best Chinese you'll taste outside of New York.

Large restaurant with nice decor. Lunch about $10. The shrimp with Vegetables and Bean Curd with Vegetables were both good: broccoli crisp, brown sauce tasty. Shrimp were large and tender with good flavor. They serve brown rice. Food could have been hotter.

This restaurant is situated in a strip shopping center and has a very unassuming storefront. I was a bit skeptical when my friend and guide-for-the-day told us that a lunch stop there would yield a memorable meal, but it did. I had a spring roll appetizer and a bowl of minced chicken and corn soup to start things off. Both... More

I don't understand why many of my friends rave about this restaurant. I think the food here is overrated. I am not saying it is bad but I can say I can get similar or better food at some of the take out I know. Ambience is nice and the service is quite good but as the few times I... More

We love their General Tso's and the fried meat dumplings. We don't eat here as often as we have in the past when we lived in Kingstown but it is the best General Tso's we have had in the DC area.

A few days ago we went for Dinner - weekday. We knew this Restaurant from way back in time and is was recommendable. Sadly not any more. The Restaurant- dining-room is acceptable clean. The food is the dilemma: we had two different orders, one beef/green pepper, one cashew chicken: both dishes were looking and tasting very oily. The beef was... More

As my lovely boyfriend and I "eat" our way through Alexandria, House of Dynasty was next on our list. I made a reservation because I typically make one so that we do not have to be surprised when we show up and they can not seat us. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm Saturday night and we arrived..well..at 6:30. The... More

My wife and I had dinner there Friday evening, it was crowded as always. We have been eating here for the past twenty years. Not as often as we would like since we moved out of the area, but every time we are in Northern Virgina we eat at the House of Dynasty. My wife had the Hot and Spicy... More

I wouldn't listen to the this is "americanized" chinese food reviewers - quite simply, you're wrong. Just came back from NYC eating at the best of the best in Chinatown and this place could go toe-to-toe w/ any of the big boys. Just b/c they don't serve freshly plucked sparrow doesn't mean it's Americanized LOL - learn your regions of... More

9 jan 2014 - it is our 15 wedding anniversary and we chose to go to the House of Dynasty, www.houseofdynasty.com/ It is upscale at a reasonable price. It is quiet and romantic. Service makes us feel special. we can talk quietly in a table for two on a balcony with a back ground of mirrors. A really nice place... More
