YUM

We stopped in for lunch on a gorgeous spring Saturday around 1:00 and got seated immediately. Service was kind of slow, but the fish and chips we both had was amazing. Would definitely go back again and try something else of the menu.

Murphy's has margarita Mondays and this is why we stopped in when we were walking by. As for the atmosphere, it is very dark in the bar which was a disappointment because it was such a nice day outside. I am from the Boston area so I've been to plenty of Irish pubs and this one was just average. The... More

Nice homey restaurant and bar in Old Town. The food is good, wait staff are wonderful and cordial. Drinks are reasonable for Old Town, and so are the dinner prices. I like the meat and potato pie and the irish stew. In summer you can sit on the outdoor patio if seating is available. This pub can get pretty loud... More

Visited this place with friends after a play, walked from Little Theatre of Alexandria here, worth every step I took to get here. First, good music, second, dancing in front of the band, third, good selection of beer on tap. Crowd was lively, musicians were excellent - two guitarists singing Irish drinking songs, service outstanding, stayed to closing. Didn't eat... More

Arrived mid day for lunch and the restaurant was packed. It was a Saturday. I immediately knew this was the place. Got a small table right away and an attentive waitress, Luiza. Had a pint of Smiths Pale Ale which was excellent. The fish and chips plate was superb. Lightly beer-battered cod where you taste the cod and not the... More

Walking in Old Alexandria we decided to stop in for a beer. The beers were good and the the crowd was lively. I'm sure it gets even livelier as the evening progresses.maybe we'll return when we're back in the area. Didn't get a chance to try the food. It looked good on the folks plates around us

Fun place - with a guitarist singing Irish / drinking songs. Our group of ten returned the next evening for all you could eat ribs. We dined 'family style' so we all sampled the delicious ribs, juicy hamburger, and unbelievably tasty Shepherds Pie. And then dessert...hot apple crisp with ice cream. It was sooo good! Our wait staff did an... More

Had lunch here with my family while on a conference. It was most enjoyable. The food, service and Guinness were all very good. Seems as though this establishment has been around for some time. Lots of history and certainly great stories were told & shared in years past at this Irish pub. Its certainly worthy of a visit while visiting... More

Visited Murphy’s Irish Pub a couple of nights ago. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was festive. We ate before the nightly music started but found the noise level of all the people to be loud enough. I had Shepard’s Pie and my wife had Irish stew. This meal was as good as or better than any other Irish... More

When we sat down and asked what draught beers they had, the waitress pointed at the menu. She didn't know. She didn't know what an IPA was and they had only one IPA, a poor excuse for one at that, Samuel Adams Rebel. I ordered an Irish pub staple, beef stew. It contained two small pieces of beef. It was... More
