My wife and I went here on the first weekend in December. They have good food here and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It is loud which is expected but everyone is having a great time here. If we lived in the area, I could see coming here on a daily basis. If you are in the area,... More

The Murhpy's Grand Irish Pub is right on King Street in Alexandria, right in the middle of it all. It's a nice walk from either end of King Street where you will pass many quaint stores and shops. We were there on a Saturday night and it was packed. We arrived around 6:30 pm though and were but we were... More

If you are in the mood for a pub, Murphy's is your place. Good upstairs & downstairs long bars, full pub menu, live music, great service, reasonable prices. If you plan on visiting on St. Patrick's Day, go very early.

Maybe good place to drink and be merry...but eating....not so much. Shepard's pie....oh dear. Venture to guess all made from canned ingredients, including the gravy poured over the top. Tasted like...hmmm. Swanson's man microwave meals might come to mind. Yep. just like a Salisbury steak microwave meal. With cheddar cheese topping. Which also seemed...really wrong?

This place was great! Drinks were much better priced then most bars in old town which is always a plus. The atmosphere was just like a old Irish Pub very warm, cozy, and inviting. If you go on a night that they have music try to stay downstairs where Pat is playing. He is awesome! So entertaining! Great place to... More

Murphy's has been around since the Earth cooled. It is a classic place - lots of Irish decor and many beers to be had. We were there for brunch on a Sunday. It was a very fun morning. It was packed and the server apologized for having to put us upstairs. There was only one server (two people had called... More

Okay, I went for a Guiness (sp) and Irish food, but hey, the cute waitress to me about the all you can eat ribs for $15. Well, I bit. And yes, they were very good and tender. Great beer, great food, and a cute waitress, what more do you need? Just wish I had got her name.

After taking a leisurely stroll down King Street, we stopped in for dinner here. Great atmosphere! The place was crowded but we were taken to a table pretty quickly. Our waitress was very attentive. Our group had a hamburger, a steak, crab cakes and french dip sandwich. Our food was delicious. The gentlemen that provided the entertainment engaged the patrons... More

Had lunch here with my wife's family. Had trouble finding a table at first but after we were seated the waitress was good and the food was decent and large portions. You will either finish it or take it home but nothing that screams out of a recommendation.
