Good Brunch Spot

Murphy's has a great brunch menu with $10-12 menu items/specials and dollar glasses of champagne. I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious. Our service was very good even though the restaurant was busy. Get here early if you have a large group. The location of the restaurant makes it a great... read more

Great place for a beer at any time and even better for breakfast or brunch. It's very well known and popular so get there early for brunch or for holidays like St Patrick's day! The upstairs fireplaces are great for damp days or to take the frost out of the air and your sweater. Very lively and attracts all ages... More

Thank so very much for taking the time from your schedule to post your feedback here on tripadvisor. I am glad to read your experience at our restaurant was a fun time and you enjoyed our service, eggs Benedict, and glass of champagne or two perhaps? Just so you know, we serve brunch from 10am-3pm every Sunday. More

This is now one of my fav places to visit when in town. It's so fun and the food is great. They have some sort of smashed squash like mashed potatoes but better. Love it. Go!!

My wife and I stopped at Murphy's on a busy Saturday evening while in Alexandria in January. It's a noisy, crowded place. Our server (sorry I don't remember his name) was exceptional. The food, service and atmosphere was enjoyable. A couple of days later we went back .. the food was still very good -- the atmosphere much the same;... More

This place is a great Irish pub. Good live music, pub food and, of course, a selection of drinks including good Irish beers. Great memories of being a young Army Officer down the road a bit at Fort Eustis, VA. This was one of our escapes back in those days.

Pub grub that is not so greasy like it used to be. Service can be slow. Not badly priced for Old Town. Definitely an Irish pub with decent salads, burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips. Entertainment at night. Can be very noisy.

This place is a LOT of fun and - really - the review should be two part - 1. on entertainment and things to do and 2. the dining experience. On the food - it's okay. It is typical bar food and that is just fine if you are going to stay for the fun and entertainment! The night time... More

Since there's another 'Irish pub' a block or so away in this busy area, Murphy's could offer great quality Irish fare, such as fish and chips, and truly shine. But the fish and chips weren't the best. That said, it's a rarity to find the wonderful beer Kilkenny on tap, and this is why we chose Murphy's for dinner.

In town for a business conference and was told that I had to "hit" Murphy's during my stay. What a neat atmosphere. Fish and chips were amazing. Nice, cold Harp!!! The Irish singer that evening was great. Loved the interactive crowd songs!

We Frequent this place quite often!! Especially when Pat is playing! The food is great, the beer is cold, and the music has hand motions and sing alongs! Never a dull moment!
