The food is okay. I recommend the grilled vegetable tapas and the chicken croquettes tapas. It is a bargain restaurant that has personality, but the food is just okay.

The food and service was good but I will never go back. This is one of the few places that allows smoking. Even though the bar is "separate" the tobacco stench permeated whole building

The big thing this place has going for it is that it is often open when other places are closed. The tapas are mediocre and drinks so-so--which is generous, I've had better Bloody Mary's on an airplane. Late night atmosphere in the bar is lacking unless you're into smoking a hookah. There are better places in Old Towne...skip this one.

Hot & cold tapas of many different types are available here, and none of them disappointed. Service was good, prices were reasonable, and we didn't have to wait for either a table or very long for our food. Profiteroles for dessert were okay, though still frozen in the middle. Red sangria was good also. We felt we made a good... More

On our DC trip adventures, we ate a lot in Old Towne Alexandria. Our most favorite restaurant was Las Tapas on King Street. But the back story--we had scouted out another tapas restaurant also on King but when we arrived we were sat in the darkest, dankest spot in the restaurant and when we asked for a different place, the... We were unable to talk because the music from the flamenco show was so loud, and had to frantically order between songs. The quality of the food here was acceptable, although several things, including the pulpo, were somewhat under seasoned. Our paella was actually tasty, but we were very disappointed at its portion size. Our table of five ordered five tapas... More

Having walked past this place several times, the Mrs and I decided to try it on a whim to rest our feet and have a drink or two. We were very disappointed. First sign we made a bad choice was that two restaurants across the street serving similar cuisine were packed and this place was empty except for the bar.... More

My wife and I have walked past this restaurant many times always threatening to try it. (Our favorite Tapas restaurant is in Frederick, MD.) So last night we gave it a try. Frankly we were underwhelmed. We found the restaurant to be quite loud, the food average and the service poor. Although the menu had lots of items to choose... More

Give this eclectic place a try. It's fun, funky, great service, good food, and nice crowd. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Loved it.

We went to Las Tapas for my birthday. The hostes was very kind and gave us a nice table in front of the window. We tried the sangria and it was really good. The tortilla and croquetas were not my favorites (I prefer the ones in La Tasca) and we ordered a paella for two and we were really disappointed.... More
