Down home comfort with every options

We had a great time and meal at the King Street Blues. The hardest issue was picking out what we wanted to eat. There were so many options that looked good and gave you that comfort food feeling that selecting just one was tough. From the spicy cajun dishes to the larger than life colorful paper mache decorations, this place is not to be missed. We found the food to be reasonably priced. Although table service was a bit slow, everyone was friendly. The southern hospitality was evident from our phone call ahead to our bill and thank you. With three floors of quirkiness,... More

We went here last Saturday night during Restaurant Week in Alexandria. We were in town for a short weekend getaway. Prices were excellent due to it being Restaurant Week; we had 2 full entrees, a glass of wine each & 2 desserts for 35 bucks...can't beat that! I had the ribs which was a whole rack (took half of them... More

Hungry for barbeque ribs, we tried King Street Blues via GrubHub this week. The two full rack dinners were delivered within the hour, everything hot, as ordered and well packaged. What surprised us was the high quality of the meet, sauce, spices, etc. Maybe we lowered our expectations given it was home delivery, the slaw, beans, cornbread, ribs-- everything-- ranked... More

I ordered the flat iron steak and sweet tea. I asked the waitress if the flat iron steak was spicy and she said no. But something was spicy, either the meat or the sauce on top. It came with mashed potatoes, a mix of green beans and carrots and French onions. I liked the vegetables, potatoes and French onions. The... More

This restaurant has some interesting paper mache artwork on the walls with presidential themesl The food is not tasty or that good. The hamburger I had was as devoid of taste of beef as any I have had in years. The salad while generous was not special in taste. The dressing was forgettable. The service was friendly, prompt and appreciated.... More

Being from Toronto, we're hardly experts in southern cooking. But, we definitely enjoyed the selections at KSB after a walking tour of Alexandria. The food was very tasty and the novelty of deep fried steak and spinach pie made for an interesting meal. The atmosphere is warm and cheerful. The spinach pie was light and flavourful - a pleasant surprise... More

I enjoyed my meal at King Street Blues on a cold weeknight in November. The restuarant was not busy which dampened the ambiance a bit. I had BBQ which was good, but not the best I've had. My server did a fine job. Given the lack of activity I sort of expected a little more attention. I had to wait... More

Our family stayed in an Alexandria hotel and ventured out for dinner one evening. I looked this restaurant up online in advance to check out the menu. Everything sounded yummy even though the prices were a little more than what I wanted to spend. Our growling tummies prompted our decision to go. We dined on the first floor near the... More
