Over our 5 day stay in Alexandria we dined at La Bergerie twice for dinner and both times we were blown away by the food that was prepared for us. Our second trip they made a custom entree and custom desert for our entire table! Our first visit was on Sunday 9/7/14 with a group of 6 people. As soon... More

We were lucky enough to enjoy a memorable group dinner at this charming French restaurant in the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria. Their reputation for culinary excellence shone through every dish including escargots, homemade lentil soupe du jour, sautéed crab cake, pork tenderloin with caramelized apple, grilled salmon, and black angus tenderloin. Both the Creme Brûlée and the Grand... More

I took my mother and sister, who were visiting Washington to La Bergerie last evening and we had a wonderful meal and a relaxed evening. I have been living overseas and had not visited the restaurant in a few years but it fully lived up to my memory of fine food and fine service. I read some reviews saying that... More

Our third dining experience at La Bergerie. AWESOME. The service is superb, the wine list is wonderful, the food....can't say enough about it. Lots of opportunity for table-side preparation. Best crab cakes ever. And definitely order a soufflé for dessert at the start of your meal; it is pure heaven!!

Excellent Restaurant Week menu. The duck confit was delicious and the raspberry souffle was mouth-watering. The service is excellent even when the restaurant got busy. The atmosphere is relatively quiet even when crowded -- I could not hear conversation at all from nearby tables.

This expression, used by my grandmother, came to mind as we were not very gently rushed through dinner. And after paying about $150 for dinner for two, with a bottle of wine and a significant main course up charge, we left knowing we would never return. We had an early reservation on Saturday of restaurant week, and learned from our... More

Went for my anniversary with my boyfriend. We were rushed all throughout our meal. Was not even asked if we wanted a night cap or cappuccino or espresso. We ere just handed the check. Then apparently we needed to pay immediately; our waiter took our check and I had to ask her to place it back that we weren't ready... More

We've been coming here to celebrate special occasions for many years, but now since they've added weekly "specials' we've learned to take advantage of these, on the spur of the moment. The DC Restaurant Week menu provided ample choices and each dish promised more goodness than the last. My Duck leg confit over mushroom rizotto was superb...the Dover Sole substitution... More

This was a horrible let down. I made an 8PM reservation days in advance and had been looking forward to going with my father on vacation. When we arrived we were promptly seated, but waited 15 minutes for anyone to even offer us water of beverages. After the water came, the waiter arrived 5 minutes later and stated he could... More

We had eaten there several times before and enjoyed it. Going on Fathers Day was a disappointment. I ordered lamb. I was expecting some version of a lamb chop. What I got was some kind of rolled up entree that was fatty, gristly and difficult to eat. Not good. My wife ordered the lobster, which was removed from the shell... More
