A Pleasant Surprise

I was leary of eating at a sports-figure restaurant because they are normally very disappointing. Theismann's was a pleasant surprise with

Nothing special. The food is average; similar to other pub-type restaurants in the area. Location is good for Metro access, and street parking is free in evening.

It seems to be a great place for the young to meet for drinks. We were there for dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly service and wonderful food. All 4 of us had different meals and they were all very good. Price was reasonable for a big city.

The food was great. My husband had the ribs and they were tender and tasty. I had the crab cakes which were good but I wished they were a little larger. The staff was a bit neglectful which he apologized for. All in all a good experience.

I don't recall ever having a meal here that was less than fantastic. It's a nice restaurant in a business/residential area where there are many places to eat. There's been times when I ate there almost every day. I used to work right next door, it was convenient and it was good.

Disappointing. Not at all a top-shelf steak house. Plenty of other restaurants in the area to choose over this one.

Surprisingly good. Ordered the Manhatten chowder soup, and split the crabcakes/fries/slaw. Crabcakes were excellent: all meat, no filler, and lightly fried. Service was very good for our large group on a Saturday evening. Will definitely return.

Great restaurant in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Very normal prices for the area. I had the crabs cake and the were great. My wife had the pork chop and she said it was awesome!! Only about about 150 yards from the King Street Metro station! Would eat there again!

Friday dinner with family - a large place, lots of noise, boisterous conversation. Our table was reserved (as promised); But: the $30 steak was tough (properly at temp)! Not exactly the place to be with a family - very loud, lots of TV's. Although main dishes were hot, the sides were not. Patronize only if you're without kids, and aim... More

We went their with a party of 13 and were seated quickly. It is noisy but typical for this type of restaurant. Food is good and service was terrific considering the amount of people. Considering there were 6 kids and 7 adults, it was perfect.
