Great until the end

My wife and I were tired and wanted something close to where we were staying and close to the DC Metro tracks. The wife had a shrimp/lump crabmeat pasta dish and I had fish and chips with a cup of gumbo. The food was good and the help was excellent. Our bill was $47.85 so I gave the waitress a... read more

After a hard day sightseeing, unwind with a great happy hour and bar staff at King St Metro station. Great while waiting for the shuttle to return to Wyndham National Harbour.

Conveniently located (one minute walk directly across from the King Street metro stop in Alexandria), offers an excellent menu: steaks, seafood, salads – and $10 burgers (or pulled pork or Caprese Panini). A lively ambiance (a young crowd when we were there). Perfect after a day of touring.

We stopped at Joe Theismann's Restaurant after a long day of exploring Washington DC. We were staying at a hotel in Alexandria and took the metro into the city. Before checking into the hotel, we decided to stop for dinner and Theismann's is in a great location, right across from the King Street Metro station. We approached the hostess stand... More

Joe Theismann's Restaurant was very accommodating. They took our large party on short notice. It is in Alexandria across from the King Street Metro. I had the lasagna. I wasn't crazy about the food. I really should not have ordered lasagna at a restaurant that is not Italian. Perhaps, they have better food on their menu, but I probably wouldn't... More

We went here last night for dinner, and it was delicious! We had a wonderful waitress (Daphne), who made great suggestions on ways to modify our orders. 3 of us got salads (greens and feta with fried chicken, greens and feta with blackened chicken, and the Asian salad with shrimp), and my brother got the fish and chips. Everything was... More

Theismann's restaurant in Alexandria differs from many of the ex-sports star restaurants in that it's not some high-end steak house. They serve a wide range of comfort food, steaks, and seafood, at prices that are within reach of diners who don't have expense accounts. I had a catfish dish that was a New Orleans style with red beans an rice,... More

Most often, I've met business friends at Theismann's after work because its location is predictably convenient. The restaurant is situated across the street from the King Street Metro station. A taxi stand and easy parking are available nearby. The restaurant has several spaces - one can enjoy a quiet meal in the back room or on the porch, or watch... More

We go to Theismann's at least once a week. The servers, atmosphere, and menu are great. My favorite is the Ahi tuna - they serve it as an appetizer or an entree. We also love the Halumi cheese skewers.

This is a place that, unfortunately, I tend to forget about. When I go I say "Augh I should come here more often." The food is great, great salads and sea food. Really fun bar and great sports bar. The people who work here are really nice too.
