Very Enjoyable Evening

Its been a snowy cold winter and an evening here was just what the doctor ordered. I forced myself to stop with only one piece of bread in the basket - good thing as our portions were very generous. The veal was excellent as was the Rosemarino's house special pasta with seafood. Usually the seafood... read more

Went early on a Saturday night. Ordered minestrone soup (very good), mussels with tomato sauce. Spaghetti Carbonara and Tomato Avocado salad. First, they got the order of mussels wrong. The salad was not what expected: everything was chopped up in tiny bites. The mozzarella did not taste "homemade". The avocado was unripe. The spaghetti was oily and covered in too... More

We went here with my mother in law who was in a wheel chair the day after the Washington Post review. We found it delightful. They were very accommodating to our needs and this restaurant could easily become our favorite. Wine suggestions were superb. We had pasta, osso bucco, sausages, soup and a mozzarella tomato salad-family style. It was well... More

After Christmas holiday feasting, we decided to go out on Saturday night and wanted Italian. We stopped in early to Rosemarino's without a reservation and got lucky. We scored a tabled but 30 minutes later it was packed. Next time we will have a reservation because I would not want to missout. Our wait staff were very attentive and friendly... More

We had such high hopes for this restaurant. I went when it was La Strada and the food was delicious. The wait staff here is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is quaint. We started with the bruschetta. The garlic was overpowering. We ordered gnocchi Bolognese and spaghetti with meatballs. The gnocchi was overcooked and there wasn't much flavor... More

We stopped in for a nice dinner and were pleasantly surprised at the calm atmosphere, not like other Italian restaurants which try to overwhelm you with how "Italian" they are. Service was very good, friendly, and attentive. We had a pasta special and vitello parmesan - both were very good, with large portions. The price was as expected for this... More

This brings to mind the bustling trattorias of Italy with its close knit ambience, adjoining tables, lively crowd and expansive menu. The cuisine has stayed the same since the change in management, primarily due to the fact that the former staff is now the current staff. A good selection of traditional Italian meals from antipastos to pastas makes this a... More

Dinner at Rosemarino was icing on the cake after a long day in DC. Tucked away, looking indeed like a hole in the wall, we wondered whether we had made a mistake. No, indeed! So wonderful to enjoy a dinner here-I mean a real Italian dinner, free of the Olive Garden schtick. Inside the atmosphere projects warmth and comfort. Tables... More

We had avoided this place for years because it looked like a family-style Italian place with bright lights and carpet. Once you get past the entryway, which creates that plastic-table impression, it's a completely different ambiance. We ended up here one night in December when the place we wanted to try was closed that evening, and we were so impressed... More
