Unique but pricey.

This place is good because they do in fact have seemingly unlimited cheeses! But it's pricey, and they are not open every day. Service is hit or miss, but oh, their cheese combos--grilled cheese especially. I like it!

On Friday, October 16th, 2015, my wife, Janice, and I ate a late lunch at this bistro. Our food and drinks were terrific so while it was our first visit it won't be our last. Janice and I shared the 5 pick, we each enjoyed the Gascogne wine, and we shared the Bavarois for dessert. Our server was Holly.

If you're a Foodie kind of person, you'll love La Fromagerie. It has a wonderful selection of meats and cheeses, which you can combine for a delightful meat-and-cheese board. It also has great sandwiches, and for me, one of the most unusual soups I've ever had -- a Virginia Peanut Soup, with okra floated on top. I'd go back just... More

The food was amazing, my wife ordered the BLT and I had the Tuna, these were NOT your ordinary sandwiches, we shared halves and the flavors were so different, fresh farm to fork ingredients and attention to detail. We just had to go back a couple days later and it was just as delicious as the first visit. Service was... More

The food was delicious. All three cheeses we ordered were first rate. Charcuterie board was just perfect. We enjoyed their wines available for purchase. Our only complaint was the server as she had an unpleasant air that took away from a great evening.

While in the area on business I decided to try this bistro for lunch. If you are looking for oversized plates and doggy bag portions, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for amazing tastes, this is just right. The atmosphere is very quaint and relaxing. I started with a Greek salad (not to be confused... More

WE dropped in for some wine and cheese before having dinner for a family celebration. The ambiance, service, and food/wine were fantastic and I would love to go back again. We ordered some different white and red wines and a fruit/cheese board. The pairings were just perfect, and our server was right on the money with her recommendations of what... More

This quaint restaurant is much more than just a wine and cheese bistro. It's really a great lunch place located at 1222 King Street, just a few block north of the heart of Old Town. We stumbled on this charming boutique restaurant owned by Sebastian Tavel and loved it so much, we came back a second time. It was just... More

Lunch was delightful -- unique twist on old standbys like BLT. Wine exceptional. I would definitely buy wine there. Very pleasant ambiance. In the heart of Oldtown.

I've been here a few times. I intend to return any time that I'm in Alexandria. I asked for something old and stanky. That's what I got. It's one that I hope they continue to carry called "bathed in glory". Glory is right. Glorious stinky, earthy cheese with a taste worth closing your eyes and meditating on...until someone asks you...
