My wife and i had the special, lobster eggs benedict, with mimosas and pumpkin bread. Absolutely perfect, even the coffee! Service was spectacular, warm and friendly. When we left, server asked whether we had a dog. We said yes, and he came back in a...moment with two small bags of homemade doggie treats. Really wonderful place to go. We'll be back!More
We are so happy you enjoyed your experience with us :-) We bet your pup was glad you came to visit us too! We appreciate you taking time to write your review and look forward to your next visit.
My husband and I had breakfast at Del Ray Cafe while visiting Alexandria. It was literally the best breakfast place that I have been to outside of my own home cooked breakfast. All dishes were freshly prepared with organic ingredients. I had an omelet and...my husband had the Eggs Benedict. They were both outstanding! All dishes are served with a house made croissant which was also incredible. The wait staff was friendly, courteous, attentive without hovering and just lovely people. We highly recommend this space and we will definitely be back the next time we are in VA!More

One of the best crepes I’ve ever had. Amazing croissants. My son and I came for brunch and it was excellent. Great service too.

Superb dishes, including the cold pea soup, the fried oyster Benedict, and the crêpe rotisserie chicken with asparagus and curry crème fraîche. Service and staff in general were excellent. We will be back!

We loved this place! Food was delish and the ambiance was great, unique menu choices and very affordable. We would go back anytime we are in the area!

We were on a family vacation in the DC area. We stopped by Del Ray cafe on our way out of town, for brunch. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the staff is incredibly friendly. Service was fantastic and the food is incredible. If you...are in the area this is a must to stop at.More

#1 on a 45 minutes waitlist but we gave up after an hour of not being seated. I don’t know what if I will attempt to come back here.
We are very sorry you weren't able to get a table in a reasonable amount of time. We do hope you'll try again - we offer Brunch 7 days/week from 9am-2:30pm.
Man o’ man! My buddy took me to the Del Ray Cafe for my first visit back to the states and this place didn’t disappoint. The first thing you notice is that the cafe used to be a functioning house and is now turned into...a restaurant. You’d miss it walking by if you weren’t paying attention to detail because it fits so well amongst the homes in the neighborhood. The staff was extremely friendly and on point. The menu was diverse and the food proteins were perfect. The build your own omelet was clutch and the French toast was delicious. I would come back here and highly recommend checking this place out when you’re in VA.More
We are so happy you enjoyed your experience with us, from our quaint ambiance and friendly staff to our wonderful organic eggs and Frenchman-made brioche French Toast. Thanks for spreading the word and thanks to your buddy for bringing you in!! We hope to see...More
Tucked into this revitalized neighborhood is this gem remodeled and converted from a house to a delightful well managed restaurant. How they accomplish so much in that small kitchen is amazing. My only complaint is too noisy and I wear hearing aids which makes it...difficult to hear those close to you. Service is professional, efficient, attentive and food well presented and of course every good. Prices are all higher than I’d like but that is par for the area and being sustainable.More
Thank you for your nice review! We are so pleased you enjoyed most aspects of your time with us :-) Yes, on a busy weekend brunch, it can get very loud in our little space. Next time perhaps ask to be seated in our Barn...More
We live in the area and every now and then treat ourselves to a breakfast/brunch at Del Ray Cafe. Not even once we left disappointed about the food or service, and we tried many things on the menu. They don't make reservations for weekend morning/day...meals and wait time could be somewhat long, yet we never were rushed by the waiters. Parking indeed can be a challenge but we always find a spot within 5-minutes walk.More
Thank you for being a treasured neighborhood regular, Natasha! We couldn't be happier that you have a good experience each and every time you visit - it truly is our goal :-) We look forward to your next visit!
On a busy late Saturday morning, our party of four, tried this place for the first time. We were not disappointed. Told we'd have a 40 minute wait, it turned out to be more like 10-15 minutes. Score one for the restaurant! Our server was...very attentive and easily explained anything that we questioned. I had the Croque Monsieur, and though not as excelled as I've had in Paris, it was very tasty. A side of SOS (ask a former armed forces member) was excellent also! My wife's eggs Benedict with crab was a winner as was my SIL dish of venison stew. My MIL had a simple plate of scrambled eggs and said that they were very good too. All in all, VERY, VERY good. The only downside is finding parking in the largely residential area. All of the staff were very friendly and outgoing - asked if we enjoyed the visit, I replied in the affirmative but said that I wouldn't tell anyone - I don't want more people inundating this great place so that I have to wait! Try it , you'll love it.More
We're so glad you tried us! Thank you, Tim, for deciding to "tell someone" about your great experience with us ;-) We are so happy everyone in your party loved their selections. We hope to see you again!
This is the cutest little place with the best service!! All of the waitstaff were so kind and engaging - you can tell they really care about their business. The food was also awesome! I highly recommend this place!
Thank you for your wonderful comments, especially about our staff :-) We are so lucky to have such amazing staff and will share your comments with them. We hope to see you again soon!
Having seen the fantastic reviews, we were looking forward to brunch at the Adelaide Ray cafe. The eggs and granola were good, but not special. We had the tiniest fresh organ he juice, no cutlery even when the food arrived, our side order only arrived...after asking twice and we then asked for salt and pepper (no pepper and the salt grinder left a huge amount of course salt on the plate). The staff were very friendly, on arrival and departure, but didn’t make up for the lack of attention in service for the meal. Maybe they were just too busy - it was peak brunch time and we waited 20-30 mins for a table for 2.More
We are very sorry you had a disappointing experience with us. Unfortunately, we do get very hectic during weekend Brunch which can cause some delays and oversight at times - I am sorry it happened to you.
