This is the real deal authentic mexican taquería. A little bit out of the way, but worth it. Very very casual, looks like a cafeteria. Tried a little of everything, the Carnitas and Barbacoa were both good and the Tounge (lengua) was great as well.

This restaurant is clean, neat and has wonderful flavors! It is very casual with café style tables and chairs--not a place to take a date, but great to go as a family or on the spur-of-the-moment.

We had tacos, pupusas, and seafood soup. All were unbelievable. Do not expect a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and there are @ 4 tables. Overall the quality of the food overcomes the lack of ambiance.

La Mexicana is real Mexican food, not New Mexican or Tex-Mex, but the real food from Mexico. Not since living in California have I had real Mexican food like this. The tacos are simple, but the meat is well seasoned and they do not skimp on the filling. The tamales are the best around. The Mexican pastries are wonderful. There... More

I got the corn tamale plate. Everything was yummy especially the beans. They had a spicy salsa which was nice since most places have mild sauces. My husband got the california breakfast burrito. It was different. There were fries in it but they tasted fishy. Guess they use only one fryer. We may return. They only had hand sanitizer in... More

Visited this place a couple weeks ago on the recommendation from a Yelp review. This place IS a hole in the wall.. in a funky shopping strip next to a 7-11. The space is very brightly lit (no romance here!) and one entire wall is lined with cases full of delicious looking cakes and pastries. The seating consists of about... More

This is a little Mexican restaurant running out of a bakery. The food is absolutely authentic Mexican. The Tortas are to die for! It is a husband and wife operation. They prepare everything and serve it to you with pride. Anytime a cook hands you their food and looks you in the eye, you are in for some great eating.... More

This is a small restaurant located in a strip mall just off of Route 1 in Alexandria, VA. I read a review and decided to try it. I had the chips and guacamole along with a pork burrito and beverage. It was very good and plenty of food, but it was almost $18, and that is a bit high in... More

I say hole int eh wall only because its a little hard to find and from the outside looks like it'd be sloppy. But the inside is very neat and the staff is friendly and the food is authentic!
