Great place to lunch

We enjoyed lunch at the Firehouse when we were on vacation. It's a great atmosphere. Our waitress was delightful. She recommended a root beer that was great (even for someone like me who typically does not like it). I had the quinoa salad, and it was very good.

We visited with relatives. Overall food was okay. One meal - chicken - had to go back as a bit undercooked. Cocktails were good and overall atmosphere was pleasant. Happy hour prices were a good deal. Staff were very courteous and brought us an additional dish whilst waiting for a new meal. Would visit again if in Alexandria.

This restaurant is in an old firehouse, hence the name. We were served blue catfish & cornbread panzanella salad. I'm not big on fried fish, but this was yummy. This was the 3rd stop on our food tour.

I stopped in Alexandria to meet local friends for brunch, and we had a wonderful meal. They touted the restaurant as one of their favorites for breakfast, and I can see why. When you enter the restaurant, you first go through a dark, cozy pub area. Off to the left, it opens into an airy atrium with endless amounts of... More

We have visited the Firehouse a few times. Our best experiences have been sitting in/at the bar for great cocktails and yummy food. The experience in the main dining room, upstairs, has always been a disappointment -- now we always stick to the bar. Their cocktails are fantastic and the bartenders really know how to craft a fine beverage. They... More

Great little spot with a minimal Menu. We sat outside, small seating area but very quaint. We seemed to be surrounded by locals, we were getting odd looks the entire meal. But that didn't bother me, I enjoyed the sausage n biscuits. Very creamy gravy with a little spice. A little pricy but that's what you should expect in that... More

Feels like an intimate bar when you walk in, but then you're led to an open, airy dining room. Very comfortable, good service, good food.

We averaged about %150 a head, but we did have wine pairings with every dish, and a 4 course meal, so that's not unreasonable in my opinion. Delicious food, great portion sizes, and fantastic service. I would definitely visit again, and soon.

Dined here in mid-April with old friends, girlfriend, son and daughter-in-law. Eight of us total. I'll be brief here. Great decor and atmosphere. But food was another story. One lady's chicken was totally raw (red inside) and had to be sent back. It was returned microwaved. One lady was brought the wrong cocktail and had to send it back. My... More

Had dinner there for my birthday while visiting son and wife. A very enjoyable evening. Everyone enjoyed their meal, mussel appetizer also. Service very good.
