LOVE this place. If you want to impress your guests make a reservation and bring them here. Let me repeat, MAKE A RESERVATION. This is not just a bar but an experience. Shall I give it away or leave the intrigue. I will tell you a mixologist will make your drinks from fresh ingredients that he just made. This is... More

My first time at PX was shall I say, magical. My boyfriend and I went after a nice dinner, just the two of us. We got ushered in right away, and were placed at a little table in the first room we entered. We really wanted to sit at the bar and our server pleasantly brought us over and introduced... More

We read about PX in an upscale travel magazine. Since it was in our neighborhood we had to try it. First of all, it is difficult to get a booking. We made ours two weeks out (which is the limit) just to get the time we wanted. So obviously we planned our whole night around this event. You can also... More

Never made it in. We arrived with a friend, all dressed very nicely. After we knocked, a gentleman in a polo shirt, khaki shorts and sandals came out to smoke. He said the place was dead. The gatekeeper, who was in a pleather catsuit, informed us that it would be a two hour wait. HA! There are too many wonderful... More

PX is a very special place for drinks. Not cheap and not for the every day but my wife and I enjoy this place for special occasions. If you go, you have to sit at the bar. No ifs and or buts on that ... part of it is watching the drinks being made right there in front of you... More

Loved feeling like an insider as we saw that the blue light was on outside this side-street entry door. As a quick decision to have an after-dinner drink, we only waited 10 minutes to be allowed entry to the very small speakeasy. Only about 30 seats in this hidden spot decorated in a 20's style décor with hand-crafted cocktails. Delicious... More

The PX is certainly a place to say you've been. Reservations aren't required but strongly encouraged - likely to foster the aura of exclusivity. The bar has two areas on either side, referred to as "rooms" by the hostess. In the back is an actual, separate room (no scare quotes) where we were seated. I wouldn't expect to see armless... More

We came here for drinks with friends before we went out to dinner. The drinks were lovely. Although they were a little pricey, they were delicious! And they don't seem like they have enough alcohol, till you stand up! That's a sure sign of a great cocktail! Our waitress was wonderful as well. We will definitely be back here. It's... More

A small intimate setting, doing carefully crafted and unique cocktails. But they can also do a good Old Fashioned as well. Friendly and helpful server. And in old town Alexandria. Pretty great.

I can't decide what I think about PX. Hands down, the drinks are exceptional. Creative flavors, house-made elixirs, and unique combinations make this a great place to kick back and try something new. But although I understand the speakeasy vibe, I can't help feeling like I'm back in someone's college apartment that confuses sheets for curtains. Worth it for the... More
