Never made it in. We arrived with a friend, all dressed very nicely. After we knocked, a gentleman in a polo shirt, khaki shorts and sandals came out to smoke. He said the place was dead. The gatekeeper, who was in a pleather catsuit, informed us that it would be a two hour wait. HA! There are too many wonderful... More

PX is a very special place for drinks. Not cheap and not for the every day but my wife and I enjoy this place for special occasions. If you go, you have to sit at the bar. No ifs and or buts on that ... part of it is watching the drinks being made right there in front of you... More

Loved feeling like an insider as we saw that the blue light was on outside this side-street entry door. As a quick decision to have an after-dinner drink, we only waited 10 minutes to be allowed entry to the very small speakeasy. Only about 30 seats in this hidden spot decorated in a 20's style décor with hand-crafted cocktails. Delicious... More

The PX is certainly a place to say you've been. Reservations aren't required but strongly encouraged - likely to foster the aura of exclusivity. The bar has two areas on either side, referred to as "rooms" by the hostess. In the back is an actual, separate room (no scare quotes) where we were seated. I wouldn't expect to see armless... More

We came here for drinks with friends before we went out to dinner. The drinks were lovely. Although they were a little pricey, they were delicious! And they don't seem like they have enough alcohol, till you stand up! That's a sure sign of a great cocktail! Our waitress was wonderful as well. We will definitely be back here. It's... More

A small intimate setting, doing carefully crafted and unique cocktails. But they can also do a good Old Fashioned as well. Friendly and helpful server. And in old town Alexandria. Pretty great.

I can't decide what I think about PX. Hands down, the drinks are exceptional. Creative flavors, house-made elixirs, and unique combinations make this a great place to kick back and try something new. But although I understand the speakeasy vibe, I can't help feeling like I'm back in someone's college apartment that confuses sheets for curtains. Worth it for the... More

We had heard about this place as it is sort of a hidden gem in Old Town. It basically has no sign outside and you have to make reservations several weeks in advance to get in. But it is an amazing place. They only serve specialty cocktail drinks but what great drinks they are. My husband had a cocktail that... More

I came here after a night at the Carlyle Club (also really wonderful) and at first we were too early so we were turned away and had to come back. That was fine- because we went to another great bar down the street. When we did come back around midnight, it was fantastic! Everyone was so nice and talked to... More

From the glowing and comfortable ambiance, to the pseudo secrecy of a speakeasy, to the complex and delicious drinks with funny names, to the top notch customer service, you'll feel like nobody but class comes here. I haven't had the dinners here so I can only speak to the drinks, but the drinks are marvelous in their variety of tastes,... More
