Stopped for lunch with my husband. Small, intimate, an closely served. It's a nice change of pace considering all the chains these days. Loved the tabbouleh, baba ghannouj, and falafel!! I don't eat meat but my husband assured me his chicken shawarma was fantastic. It's now a must stop each visit to DC/ Old Town

Try, try, try the babaganoush--it is amazing, not too smoky, smooth and creamy, served with hot, fresh pita. We enjoyed their falafel, fatoush salad and chicken shawarma sandwich wraps also.

Ran across this place looking for dinner after a hectic day touring D.C. This place is small but oh do they do middle eastern food well. Living near one of the largest middle eastern communities we thought we had had good food. This place is like being invited into a Lebanese home with Mom cooking. Everything was fresh and homemade... The food is good, although the menu is fairly limited. Don't go thinking you'll get many good vegetarian options.

I highly recommend this place for those who want to experience the true middle Eastern Cuisine... I tried dishes that are unique to that region, they all were executed perfectly; kibbe nieh (beef tartar), Arayes (flat bread with meat), and Bahmea (ukra) with lamb shank... Service very good Prices are decent If you are originally from the Middle East and... More

While having dinner at Layla's for the first time was a result of me being out-voted, it was a pleasant surprise. The service was very attentive-I was never left with an empty glass. For appetizers, we tried the baba ganoush and the spinach pies. Both were good, but not spectacular. I had the mixed grill, which came with lamb, chicken... More

I've eaten here several times and find myself regularly craving the lentil soup. It's pretty close to perfect, particularly because of the light citrus infusion in the soup. I usually get an order of the rice pilaf with it, and eat the two together - or sometimes I just want to eat the rice by itself because it is also... More

During our recent 9-day stay in Alexandria, VA, we visited Laylas Lebanese Restaurant for a late lunch, early light dinner. We were greated warmly and seated promptly upon entering. There were few other patrons at the time of our visit. We shared Laylas Special Appetizer Platter $18 which included Hommos, Baba Ghannouj, Grape Leaves, Spinach Pies, Tabouleh and Falafel. It...
