We are in the habit of dining out for Thanksgiving since we live far from close family. Brabo did not disappoint! We enjoyed a fixed price menu with something to suit everyone's tastes - including a lovely take on the traditional Thanksgiving meal. We often dine at Brabo for special family occasions because it combines fine dining with a relaxed... More

What was once one of the better restaurants in Alexandria has fallen hard from its perch. The service was really slow and below average. 40 minutes to get our entree at brunch when the restaurant was half empty, the steak was no longer hot when it was served either indicating that it had been sitting out for a while. Wait... More

This is a lovely restaurant with an unpretentious atmosphere and menu. The food is straightforward and you receive a meal exactly as it is described. And, it is delicious. The portions may seem small, but the richness of the food and melding of different flavors, makes every bite a culinary sensation. It is pricey but for the quality of the... More

For me consistency is the major attraction of this old town favorite. And by that I mean consistently excellent with no surprises & solid reality based cuisine without pretension. Everything on the menu seems to go together.

Had a wonderful dining experience from the greeting at the door through desert. The service was wonderfully paced. Staff was able to answer all questions. It was a truly fine dining experience. would definitely return there on my next trip to the DC area.

We have dined at Brabo numerous times, and have always had wonderful dining experiences -- whether it is a special occasion or dinner with friends, Brabo delivers every time. The menu is concise, but provides enough variety for every palate. The wine list is superb, and the staff is knowledgeable, attentive and courteous. While the prices are higher than many... More

BRABO is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. The food and service are always topnotch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and cozy. We have never had a bad meal or experience at BRABO. If you want a really special experience, book a room at the Lorien Hotel and Spa, which is located with the restaurant.

I was nervous about going "out" for Thanksgiving, but our experience at Brabo was everything I had hoped. It was elegant but comfortable. The service was warm and attentive and the food was delicious.

At the Hotel Lorien on King Street is a cute little wine bar on one side of the entrance and a more formal restaurant across from it. Both named Brabo. We visited the bar and sampled the fairly extensive wines and some unusual beer offerings with tasty appetizers.

Kevin, It sounds like you discovered Brabo Tasting Room, our more casual wine bar here at The Lorien...we're glad to hear you enjoyed the experience! Next time you visit, check out Brabo by Robert Wiedmaier, our more formal dining room, with a great happy hour seven days a week at our bar there. We look forward to seeing you again... More

We enjoyed a superior meal at Brabo with one notable exception. The setting was quite good with well placed tables that allowed for easy conversation. We had an excellent, but not overly, attentive waiter. Appetizers were wonderful. The foie gras and smoked sturgeon were both exceptional as was the delicious "Vanilla Chevre Bavarian" dessert. The Black Cod with poached Oysters... More

Patricia, I'm sorry to hear that, despite a "superior meal" with great service and wonderful food, you're hesitant to return to Brabo just because you found the quail to be extremely salty. I assure you that is not how Chef prefers to serve that dish. It's very savory, but should never be too salty. I wish you'd brought it to... More
