New Location is a Hit

It was our first time at the new location...one of the servers actually remembered us from the previous spot . The menu for Sunday brunch is quite nice with several interesting choices. The $29 fixed price option is a good way to go. We shared the tomato salad app and it was delicious - the... read more

My wife & I enjoyed a mid-week lunch at Bastille as part of the DC & Alexandria Restaurant Week. We found the wine selection for pairing with the menu options to be excellent. The atmosphere for a late lunch during mid-week was quiet and quite conducive to delightful meal. The staff were polite, friendly, and attentive. James helped with the... More

Today I went to Bastille for lunch for the first time. The service was excellent but the food is average at best. My napkin shed all over my blue slacks and wouldn't come off so I had to return to work with while fuzz all over them. I Started with the Beignet of shrimp which was served with a Harissa... More

My family was visiting, so we thought we would go to a really nice place. We found an excellent restaurant at Bastille in Old Town Alexandria. We loved the Angus Beef Steak and the Mallard Duck. Bastille has a great atmosphere and a particularly great staff. We would love to go again.

The Poteaux’s newest incarnation is definitely worth seeking out. Food is fresh, seasonal, with little touches that make each item uniquely theirs. Earlier this spring, I had the best sea bream ever—the fish was cooked to perfection, of course, but the nest of small veggies—including fennel & cippolini--enhanced the fish rather than just accompanying it. The mid-summer tuna with spices... More

The staff was engaging and friendly. From the appetizer to desert were loaded with flavor. Mushroom soup, Caesar salad, mussel entre, pork rib chop, finishing with Campfire & Chocolate. My only issue was the chop was order with the recommended doneness, and was bone dry. Definitely going back!

We enjoyed a fine Sunday brunch here. Awesome sticky buns! Service was excellent and prompt. The restaurant is a storefront on the lower level of an apartment building. It is simple and non-pretentious, but still tastefully decorated. All of the meals served to our party were excellent, flavorful and fresh.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and were very impressed. The service was pleasant, the ambience was elegant but not stuffy at all, and the food was fantastic! Not only was the prix fixe menu delicious, the presentation was stunning. The only complaint we had was that the fries that came with our entrees were clearly overcooked. However,... More
