Great atmosphere

Beautiful, not overdone, not pretentious, relaxing. Great coffee. The open faced sandwiches were good but next time I'll try something different. The Belgian waffles were amazing, even without toppings. The staff was nice and accommodating with our 16 mo daughter. We'll definitely be back.

This is my absolute favorite chain restaurant in the World! If I see it in Dubai I go inside, in Tysons corner I go inside, in Sydney I go inside and now Alexandria! I just love the atmosphere, the spreads and condiments are delicious and I always stock up on them given the chance! I cannot wait for this chain... More

Such a pity about most of the staff's attitude here as the food is good-healthy, not too adulterated and less sweet than other American eateries. On my two visits this year the service was poor and that's why I have marked down the overall rating to poor which is a pity. Despite not being busy, the waitress was slow on... More

Coffee is nothing special. I only drink black coffee so I can't rate any of their European style cafe beverages. However, the coffee was just okay. I got a blueberry muffin which was pretty good. Not nearly the best I have ever had although it seemed a little healthier which is always welcomed. Seemed pretty fresh as well.

My friends picked this place because it had something on the menu for everyone and was close to a few friends' hotels. We were excited when a spot was found for everyone despite not having a reservation. However, as the service wore on, we realized that everything was not as it seemed. First, there was a drink order mix up... More

I go to the one in Newport Beach, CA all the time and always get the same thing - a small cappuccino and a plain croissant. So I was disappointed at this location when the cappuccino was lukewarm and not as caffeinated as the ones they make in the CA location. Even the milk was not frothed the same way.... More

I like a good rustic bakery, but this place is a bit too big for its breeches if you ask me. Food was overpriced and nothing special, the waiter was rude, and I was overall underwhelmed. Skip it and go somewhere else for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee.

We've been here a couple of times for breakfast, and I really like the breakfast options. Breakfast comes with a salad, which is great for people who like their veggies. The vegetable quiche is tasty, but for some reason the portion is very small and it doesn't come with bread, which seems to come with every other breakfast option, so... More

Just went in at 3 pm for some bread - the basket ($9) - and the bread was stale, very poor quality jam. I would be hard pressed to ever come into this chain again.

Despite its name this is actually an import from the UK, and remains faithful to the concept that started in London - good bread and croissants, communal tables with jars of jam, coffee served in bowls and a laid-back ambience. The staff were friendly but service a little slow - certainly not a fast food place. Good for breakfast or... More
