Casual and Inexpensive

My friends and I were on our way to Charlottesville, VA to attend a wedding and we wanted to stop for breakfast. We found Chick-N-Little and ate there. It's not fancy, but the food was pretty good and the prices were right. We all had omelettes and they were cooked just right. We especially liked... read more

My friend suggested this place. Said the last time she went, about a year ago, that it was fantastic for breakfast. I can honestly say it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I ordered two eggs over medium, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. The egg yolks were hard all the way through, the sausages were overcooked and looked... More

The sweet potato pancakes were delicious and the coffee great! The l,ace is simple and no frills but the locals were very friendly. Would love to pass thru that way again just for tbe pancakes.

Had heard about this place on FB, a posting of something like 10 best little restaurants in Virginia. I love diners, so was excited about finding one in Abingdon. Very disappointed in the quality of my food. Visited on a SAT AM, so I thought breakfast was their thing. I had never tried chicken and waffles and it was not... More

This place had a crowd so we stopped in for breakfast. Had eggs and sweet potato pancakes. The eggs were good, the pancakes were not cooked in center. Waitress did not seem too upset with the food preparation (but excused it by saying they are thick pancakes) even though she asked if we wanted them made again. The coffee was... More

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. He ordered bacon cheeseburger with fried green tomatoes. I had the BLT with mac and cheese. The BLT was great and the mac and cheese was just like my Mom would make it. My husband said the burger was the best he had eaten in ages. The fried green tomatoes were delicious.

Best chicken salad ever! It was made like my grandpas favorite and was very fresh. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in town.

We've always enjoyed the consistency of "The Little." It's nothing fancy, but always quality southern fare with outstanding service.

We picked up special orders of apple pie and fried chicken dinners...both were delicious. We also picked up vegetable sides for lunch and especially enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with crispy corn meal crust, well seasoned, and southern greens. What a treat!

Found this local spot while touring historic downtown Abingdon and stopped in for lunch to get out of the rain. The cheeseburger was very good, but the fried chicken, onion rings and tater tots were overdone. The pies looked tempting, but will have to return to try them!
