Sunday Brunch is Great

We ended our weekend trip with brunch in the Dining Room before we left the Martha Washington. It was just as good as the rest of our trip! Great atmosphere, upscale but not pretentious and the brunch was terrific! A great combination of foods to choose from and top notch service.

There were 6 in our party and we had a private dining room. Our waitress was very nice and even provided reading glasses when I realized I had forgotten mine. The atmosphere is very nice, the food delicious, and both the wine list and bourbon selection excellent. I would highly recommend it before visiting the Barter Theatre.

I can't believe this place was ranked 18th on trip advisor. There are two, maybe three restaurants in the hotel. We ate in the basement one. Ambiance can make the experience better--maybe even the taste of the food. The Martha has plenty of that. This is our second visit to Abingdon and first to The Martha. Next time we'll stay... More

I have visited many times. I love it. I have always had great service. That means a lot to me. Good menu. My husband liked the local beers on tap.

We had dinner reservations at Sister's after a matinee performance of My Fair Lady.It is right across the street from Barter Theatre. The restaurant is at the Martha Washington Inn.Beautiful decor.Great service. We had the lobster bisque- rich and creamy.Steak was delicious. The salmon slightly overdone. The trout was ok.We were so full we did not have dessert.I would recommend to all!

Food OK and on theatre nights service is apt to be a bit slow. Friendly staff and great bar - Serves Locally brewed real ales etc.

It has an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere. The perfect place to eat before you go to a play at the Barter Theatre. Try the Riesling wine, it's very good! My favorite meal is the crab cakes!

Had Saturday brunch, food and service were both great. A very relaxing meal and quite enough to have meaningful conversation.

I am always weary about hype - of which this place has a lot. My expectations were high only to be let down by the average atmosphere, food, and service. The lobster fritters, sauce and all, were cold. I ordered the filet of beef medium, but it was served to me medium-well. The crackers with the artisan cheeses were stale.... More

It was a very busy day at the "Martha" and there were about 10 of us, they served us in a board room. The service was perfect and of the course the beautiful old hotel is was cozy and full of atmosphere. The food was very good, as well
