En route to Asheville, we looked to tripadvisor to assist in finding a nice spot for lunch and came across 123 Pecan which didn't disappoint! A small eclectic spot with a good vibe. The open kitchen allowed the chef/owner to look out and check-in on guests. My fiancé and I split the Greek salad and a side of handcut Parmesan... More

We attend the Barter Theater fairly often... but one of the challenges we always faced was that there were no decent restaurants in Abingdon... FINALLY... a truly super place to eat prior to a matinee.... upon arrival the owner Jack greeted us and began chatting... he seated us in the outdoor "front porch".... our server was promptly there with menus... My husband and I ate here during a visit to Abingdon. We had the rib-eye and a lamb chop special, both of which were cooked perfectly and accompanied by yummy dipping sauces. We also had a special oyster taco appetizer that was to die for--deep-fried, very-crispy-on-the-outside oysters and cabbage-cilantro slaw with a fantastic sauce. The ambiance was just so-so but... Some colleagues and I were recommended to dine here and found this little gem. It has small dining areas with the ability to accommodate groups of 8 or more. Our server was very nice but I felt like her descriptions of the entrees was rehearsed(maybe I watch to many cooking shows). The beer selection was not typical yet domestic favorites... More

A great place for friends or couples. The menu had many great selections...we all had the cracker crusted trout and it was very good. Quaint setting with a very friendly staff.

128 Pecan was recommended by a good friend, so I visited for dinner one night before a play at the Barter Theatre. I enjoyed the salmon & grits and my son had the grilled ribeye. Both entrees came with either soup or salad. I couldn't decide so I ordered both the tomato bisque & the caesar salad. So delicious! We... More

My partner, Edward and I recently discovered 128 Pecan, or Jack's, as we have started calling it. It has quickly become a staple in our lives! Edward is a big fan of the Jerk Chicken and I have found myself ordering the Lump Crab Cake, numerous times. But everything we have had from the Calamari, which is divine, to the... More

We happened on this restaurant while visiting in Abingdon, Va. It is one of the best meals that we have eaten while dining out. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. It wasn't country cooking, but agourmet chef type meal. Presentation was very nice. Try it out but get there early. We ate on the front porch... More

The afternoon was perfect for sitting on the porch and soaking up the beautiful Abingdon weather while eating our favorite meal. The blackened trout was heavenly.

Owner/chef Jack Barrow has hit homeruns on all the pitches he advertises on the back of his menu: simply great food, cheerfully served in a comfortable setting, and at a reasonable price. 128 Pecan hits all the bases to satisfy the expectations of its guests. We like it so much we ate there three times during our 3-day stay in... More
