Great Atmosphere and Terrific Fare!

My wife and I loved the ambiance, decor and location of the restaurant. The service was adequate. My wife had the pan seared Atlantic Salmon and I had the filet with lump crab. Both meals were outstanding and we look forward to returning upon our next visit to Abingdon!

Wonderful dinner! Husband ordered rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. I had seared scallops that were very good. But the best part was the desert of banana bread and banana ice cream. You have to get it!!

My husband and my father ordered the filet with crabmeat. They both loved it. My Dad said it was the best steak he ever had at a restaurant. I had the Ahi Tuna. It was perfectly seared. The whole plate was delicious.

We were at RAIN with a group and the restaurant was relatively busy, anyway. The service was excellent. We were served promptly, and the food was great. I had a NY Strip steak cooked medium well and it was perfect, and perfectly delicious. All of us were raving about our dinners.

Attractive restaurant good service and desert was outstanding. My dinner was too salty and I couldn't finish it. My husband's dinner was very good. I don't know why I always get the salty dishes.

The service was great. We had the Catfish dinner and it was superior, had grits on the bottom with a special sauce. I recommend trying this dish. Great experience and good price, with large quantity. R Elkins Grundy, VA

Rain, in an historic house on East Main in Abingdon prepares and serves quality, fresh (some locally-sourced) food. Rosemary chicken linguine was a generous serving of pasta with tender breast meat. A large dinner salad topped with grilled shrimp and tossed in house-made honey dijon dressing was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Rain offers a nice selection of wines... More

The food was very good, (tried the escolar and the buttermilk fried chicken), as was the service. Prices were reasonable for the cuisine. The only detraction was the noise level; it is one of those places where the ambient noise level is a little high, making it a bit difficult to carry on a conversation. The outdoor seating area was... More

A great evening in an excellent restaurant! "Rain" makes you wish you lived in Abingdon all the time! Dinner was creatively conceived, nicely served, BUT DROP DEAD Delicious! Try the feta stuffed mushrooms, exquisitely prepared butternut squash soup, the California-style chicken breast with feta cream sauce, baby spinach, artichokes, and sun-dried tomato infused olive oil (I believe!). Finish it off... More

We arrived on a Saturday without a reservation but the hostess worked us in and for that we were grateful. Service was terrific as was everything else. I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms. If I didn't live so far away, I'd go back tonight for another plate. Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop by again for sure. Perfect... More
