A really local eatery

It's not the place to go if you insist on fine food served in an elegant manner. If however, you simply want a decent breakfast or lunch, Mr. G's is a dependable restaurant. It's a favorite of area locals who appreciate the food and the cost. Fancy it isn't; dependable food at a reasonable price... read more

Two lunches...one good (turkey ruben sandwich) one really bad (hot dogs). Slow day, waitress more willing to chat with each other than service customers. Had to go to counter to interrupt conversation so we could place order. She later apologized saying if gets slow like it was she ends up off her game.....gee one would think if it's slow you'd... Called to get two turkey dinners to go. The first dinner had a very small portion of turkey that had a strange golden tint to it. The second dinner was of turkey that was processed. The squash was frozen and reheated as was the stuffing. The mashed potato was very good. For this I paid $9.99 each. There was no... More

Hadn't been there since the name changed to "Exit Ate" restaurant. Use to go when it was Mr. G's. Well, won't be going there any time soon. I had the broiled scallops, and it was the worst meal I have ever had. The scallops had absolutely no taste, and the green beans were canned, or at least they tasted like... More

Met several members of my family for brunch where we could visit without being rushed. Exit Ate filled the bill and our stomachs. Food was hot and coffee plentiful. Scrambled eggs, ham, sausage links and patties, ham, and hash all tasty. Didn't sample the pancakes, baked beans or kielbasa and kraut but all trays were kept filled and hot. Waitress... More

This is a place with very plain ambiance, reasonably good food and service, inexpensive prices, and the feeling that your Dad would have liked breakfast or a BLT here. It is far from fancy but if you're interested in good food at a low price, you may find this suits your palate (and your wallet).

Stopped in Mr. G's this past Saturday morning on our way up 91N. There were 3 other tables of patrons when we walked in. The waitress (who was new and in training) was friendly enough - not a ball of fire though. My husband ordered the buffet - cold rubbery pancakes - nothing was homemade - canned fruit, canned hash... Sunday morning buffet is a joke. Pancakes can't be cut with a knife? Food cold. Trays empty. Waited 20 minutes for them to refill...lol a paper plate at a time. So many people waiting was ridiculous. Asked for regular syrup since only sugar free on buffet. Had to ask 3 different people. But boy were they quick to bring the... More

We have been to the fish fry two times lately - all you can eat for 10.00 with French fries and coleslaw. Choice of either haddock or clam strips and you can start with one and get seconds of the other. Fast service, pleasant local waitresses and not fancy so you can go in your work clothes and not feel... More
