Unplanned stop but so thankful we did!

Outstanding cafe. Got there just as blueberry muffins were coming out of the oven. Holy smokes! One of the best blueberry muffins I've had. Staff was super friendly. We'll be visiting again on our way skiing!

We highly recommend visiting the Red Barn Cafe in Ascutney, Vermont. The food is so fresh and the menu will satisfy anyone's cravings. Their desserts are to die for. Joshua and his family have a hidden gem here, but we hope that people will search them out and find out for themselves how great the experience is.

What a great place, stopped by after driving for 3 hours. We have 3 kids, they customized their food (I have very picky eaters) It was warm, and cozy and the staff was super friendly. In fact, my kids wanted to go back the next day. Super casual also!

I have stopped in a few times at lunch time and the breakfast sandwiches sounded so good that I decided to go earlier one day and try one out! I took my husband and daughter with me. My husband got "Western Breakfast Sandwich" and my daughter and I got "The Vermonter Sandwich" we all were SO impressed with them, that... More

Thank you for your kind review! The Vermonter breakfast sandwich is one of our most popular sellers, and we often get requests for it at lunch time also (even though breakfast generally stops at 11 AM). Thanks for dining with us, and we hope to see you again soon! - Josh More

Went for lunch on a Saturday. The place is small, maybe holds 15-20 diners, but the food is wonderful and the staff is so pleasant. I had the chicken rice soup, it was thick with rice and nice and hot. They serve sandwiches, wraps, soups and breakfasts; and a wide variety of freshly baked muffins and pies. Pie slices were... Went to the Red Barn café for lunch - everything from the friendly staff a to the delicious food made this a welcome relief from the cold and snowing weather. I had the tuna melt and it came out hot and gooey and loaded with tuna, tomato with some chips. Prices are very reasonable and made when ordered.

Quaint New England cafe with lots of personality! Local, family run, amazing staff. And of course the homemade food keeps us going back for more. Every time I go, I see something else on the menu I want to try next time! From sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, and quiche, to brownies, cookies, pies, cake, coffees and more! Always an awesome... My husband and I are fairly new patrons of this cafe. ..We stopped on a whim and were confronted with a large array of delicious looking pastries. It was hard to choose but we picked the raspberry coconut bar and lemon square -( both delicious). That said, we went back. Tthe pumpkin pie is by far, hands down, THE best... More

One of the most friendly places I've stopped to eat at in the last many years. Family run operation, smiles all around, and a Big bonus... The food was AMAZING! We had two different types of soup, two different types of Quiche (both with Bacon!) and a scrumptious dessert - the Rasberry square!! Pricing was excellent, I'd almost say it... More

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior. The gourmet sandwiches on home made bread were excellent.
