Myself and four others chose Lamberts Downtown BBQ based on online reviews. We wanted authentic BBQ without plastic forks and paper plates. We left very impressed and very full. The food was amazing, staff was friendly and inviting, and the beer selection was deep. They even take reservations! I look forward to eating at Lamberts every time I return to... More

I had brunch here with my family on a recent trip to Austin. We sat outside in an open-air patio. It was a really nice spot in Austin. I had the Eggs Benedict-- some of the best poached eggs I've ever eaten. The appetizers were super tasty as well. Try the broiled gulf oysters.

The ambiance is great and the food is even better. It was a little dark in the restaurant so we had trouble reading the menus, otherwise, everything was excellent.

Located in Austin downtown right on 2nd st., this is a very fashion bbq. Your server will be happy to explain you the dishes and the sauces so that you can decide what to choose and how to dress. A lot of meats smoked or grilled. Food is good and portions abundant. You can seat outside on the patio. We... More

We took a group from work here during a convention on a Tuesday night and we definitely needed a reservation. The building is a historic site and is quite interesting, the music playing in the upper level was pretty loud even on the lower level where we were sitting and made it a bit difficult to converse when there were... My husband and I had dinner reservations for a Friday night. It was packed so reservations are probably necessary. My husband had the brisket which he says was excellent. As a vegetarian (who sometimes eats seafood), options are limited but I did enjoy the fried green tomato salad and side of Mac and cheese that we split. The broiler oyster... More

Nestled in the delightful 2nd Street district downtown Austin, Lamberts has excellent food and drinks. Happy hour offers many food options on the bar menu at half price, which makes for a great deal. You get a one meat plate with 2 sides or even a chopped beef sandwich for $6-$7 during happy hour. I highly recommend the collard greens... More

We tried Lamberts after it was recommended to us by a barman at the hotel. We did have to wait a while as we hadn't booked but the bar upstairs was a nice place to site and wait. Service was good and the range of food was impressive. All good points really, nothing to report from a negative point of... More

My wife joined me in Austin for the Fourth of July weekend while I was on a long term assignment there. She wanted to go to Lamberts since I am not that big of a barbecue fan but loved the restaurant. Neither of us were disappointed. Great draft beer, excellent apps (wild boar riblets and devilled eggs), and great brisket... More
