On a recent trip to SXSW, my wife and I were able to arrange a dinner at Lambert's. It was one of the only barbeque places in town that took reservations. Dinner was fantastic - everything was prepared well. I had brisket and my wife had chicken. Great side dishes and a very fun atmosphere. It was a little noisy... More

Food was amazing. We weren't able to walk in and get a table on a Saturday night, so we ended up sitting at the bar. It was super packed so we lucked out even finding a seat there. I have been dreaming of their brisket ever since!!

Most of the city's best 'Que joints don't take reservations and a lot are only open for lunch, so when I was looking for a place to go for dinner on Sunday night, Lamberts looked promising. Prices are reasonably reasonable and nearby parking (early in the evening) was possible so I took my out of town visitors to Lamberts. They... More

Went with a group of about 15 guys. They were pretty helpful when setting up a menu. The food was fantastic, especially the smores bread pudding. Lots of a hype around the mac and cheese, but in my opinion I would pass on it. The pulled pork, ribs, and chicken were all phenomenal. Highly recommend the drinks there. The bartenders... More

On a Monday night we walked from the J W Marriott to Lamberts Downtown Barbecue expecting a classic barbecue joint. Not here - try upscale atmosphere and food fit for foodies, craft cocktails, and a romantic environment - Lamberts has them all. We started with a grilled focacia crouton house made caesar salad. It was excellent, especially when paired with... More

This is the kind of barbecue joint that takes reservations, and they're highly recommended. The smell of delicious pit smoke permeates every inch of Lambert's. If you aren't hungry when you walk in, the aroma will change that quickly. Lambert's is a smaller restaurant with a very cool downtown Austin feel to it. The interior seems like a renovated house,... I literally have foodie dreams about the queso and the brussel sprouts. I wake up sad and dismayed that nay I have no such things at my finger tips. The struggle is real. Lamberts is retty rad as it's in the oldest building in town. Fr the history buff there is a secret tunnel between it and the basement of... More

Visiting Austin for the first time looking for authentic experience. Heard Austin had good BBQ and music. Most BBQ joints seemed to be lunch time venues. Was able to get great BBQ with a wine list for dinner and great live music upstairs after dinner. If I am ever back here will repeat. 6 person party unanimously loved the food

we had high expectations after the hype we heard, but the bbq had didn't measure up. The brisket was very dry and the pulled pork had little flavor other than the sauce. There are far better options for Austin bbq. We were told the smokers were electric or gas not wood, which may explain the lack of anticipated. We didn't... More
