Fogo de ChaoR (fo-go dee shoun), is an authentic Southern Brazilian steakhouse. In 1979, FogoR began sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill each of our 16 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service. We invite you to enjoy the delicious preparations of our gaucho chefs along with our gourmet salad bar, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list.

Not the best

The best meat we were offered was the lamb chops. The salad bar was very average. We were here with a very large group - maybe that affected things??? Because of the horrible construction downtown, this is not an easy place to get to.

Went here with my family and left very satisfied. I was told to skip the salad bar by a person that had been there before but everything was so fresh that wasn't possible. The entire staff really hustles to be sure that you enjoy your meal. Will visit another one when I'm in a city

They are very busy, from 5 to 8 the house was full. Very faithful to its South Brazilian barbecue style where you eat all you can, but better take the more 'original' meats like Fraldinha or Picanha. Thin slices of the almost fat-free Alcatra are marvelous. Salad buffet has about 20 options.

It was our son's 17th birthday, and he requested that we go to Fogo de Chao. We had been to the restaurant before and it was a special experience, so we excitedly made a reservation a week in advance, got dressed up and headed to Fogo. Our reservation was at 6:30. We didn't get seated until after 7:00. The hosts... More

The service is outstanding and it's meat lover's heaven. Taste the very original favor of meat itself. Highly recommended.

If you love meat, this is the place for you. It is a typical Brazilian steak house with servers running around with meat sticks hot off the grill. The quality is amazing and the service cannot be topped. It is a bit pricey, so I would go for lunch. Just make sure you have time to take a nap afterwards.

Very knowledgeable staff - asked the bar tender for recommendations based on taste and did not disappoint. Food is also amazing - you'll eat too much!

This is the best place to eat beef in AUstin. ( also chicken, lamb, pork) also the buffet salads are great. From heart of palms and Spanish prosciutto to the smoked salmon. It is pricey but it is super worth it.

After missing out on the Austin Bats we decided to stay downtown for a good dinner - and what a dinner it was. Basically following directions on my phone to a Brazilian restaurant, we ended up at a true churrascaria and were welcomed like we were close friends. The service is perfect, wine list great, 'salad bar' (for lack of... More

I come here every couple of years for a special occasion because I can't afford to eat here all the time! I want to start with saying that the service was excellent. From the hostess to our waiter to the many men that bring the food selections to the table, everyone was friendly and professional. The salad bar was fresh,... More
