Torches is the goto place for tacos, not just in Austin anywhere. Do yourself a favor and try some and ask for the hidden menu.

Significantly overpriced. Incredibly mediocre. “Taco Tuesday” at my local “greasy spoon” back in California sells tacos that are the same size, utilize shredded beef rather than ground beef, and cost less than half as much. Here at Torchy’s, we tried two types of these overpriced tacos, “The Democrat,” and “The Crossroads.” “The Democrat” was the better of the two, but... More

Torchy's is one of the best taco spots in Austin, for sure. When I lived in Austin, the one at the Trailer Park was one of our go-to spots to bring out of town guests to upon arrival in the city. I liked the idea of the food trucks lined up in one spot so I could try different items if I wanted to. The food here was very good. The flavor was different than anything I am used to.

I read the favorable reviews online and was very intrigued by the unique atmosphere that I saw in the pictures submitted with the reviews. During our trip, we had limited time in Austin, and we hoped that Torchy's would be as good as described in the... More

Have been here several times and always love it. This time also had the roasted corn and it had a wonderful flavor but a little spicy. When I am in Austin I always have to find me a Torchy's.

We had already eaten lunch and were not really hungry but when we drove past torchys it was raining and there were people standing in line to order. We figured it must be something special so we did a uturn. Ordered a deep fried avocado taco and deep fried cookie dough balls. Both were so delish! Best spontaneous stop we... More
