Unfortunately, Freddie's has closed.

It was a live music venue where your kids could climb on a natural outdoor playscape and your dog could tag along while you enjoyed a cocktail and heard live music.

Freddie's Place represents what I like about old Austin, family and dog friendly places, with simple fare, entertainment, and a playscape for kids, all under a "backyard" setting. The food isn't super good, but the atmosphere is. I'll miss it when it closes.

Wasn't too busy when we went, so service was fast and friendly. Food was great, all 5 of us enjoyed our meals. Actually the only exception was the country fried steak. That wasn't so good. Large booths able to acomodate big groups.

Only visited Freddie's for cocktails but Stoner the bartender was fabulous. He was a wealth of information and entertainment. We will return without a doubt.

For a few bucks you will get homemade good food. It is served with a smile and the atmosphere in the area is inviting. Wondering how it will be in the evening.

This is why we love Austin. You can get family friendly, dog friendly, live music, and great food all at one place. The tables right next to the playground is definitely a plus.

It's not easy to find but if you want a taste of what "makes Austin Weird", go to Freddies. The food is very good, the coffee delicious, the service is excellant, but it's strictly a no frills kind of place. It's friendly for family and pets. We've had lunch there twice and have been very happy with our choices (hamburgers... More

I like coming here for lunch because they have a nice patio area where my dogs are welcome. There's even a doggie burger on the menu and help-yourself water bowls for the dogs. The food is your basic burgers, salads, fried chicken kind of thing, but it's usually well-prepared and the portions are good (not huge, but plenty). It's got... More

Met some friends here for breakfast with the kids. Weather was perfect, so we were able to sit, talk, watch college gameday while the kids played on the playground and got to pet a few dogs as well. Food is your basic breakfast fare with a few twists -- i had the chicken and waffles which were very good. If... More

Most of the tables are outside under the oak trees. Dogs are welcome and there is a small play ground. Very good homey food at reasonable prices.
