slight disappointment

Tried the SoCo location and wasn't overly impressed. Gave another shot at the airport leaving town only to have requested flavor 'not recommended due to overthawing' by employee. The blueberry muffin flavor that came in second for desired flavor at airport was very good.

I don't know what they put in their Mexican vanilla but it might as well be crack it was so addicting! Everyone loved the favors they got. Service was friendly and entertaining. Only downside was the horrendous smell in the joint - it was like an animal had died and then hey tried to cover It up with a cocktail... More

The line was long as they hand scoop each order but worth the wait. The selection wasn't as extensive as I thought it might be.

Amy's is an Austin legend, and has the lines of eager ice-cream lovers to prove it. I had one scoop of lemon cheesecake and one scoop of coffee ice-cream and it was the best I have had in many, many years. It was divine. The no-frills cafe style of the parlour is very "Austin" and who cares when the weather... More

Our friends in Austin recommended we try Amy's. We definitely were not disappointed. We stopped by on a Friday night after taking a bat cruise on Lady Bird Lake. There was a little bit of a line, but it moved fairly quickly. The servers were having fun by singing to the songs playing in the shop and doing tricks with... More

Fresh ice cream, tons of mix-ins, servers with personality - its a win-win place. I'd recommend it for a family outing or an out of town visitor. Some of the locations get really weird - one time they had the customer stand across the street with their empty cone and the server tossed they scoop of ice cream to them... More

Can't go wrong with a coffee milkshake with a scoop of hot fudge inside! My favorite ice cream in all of Austin!

This is my favorite location of the Amy's Ice Cream shops. Their ice cream is great; you must have the Mexican Vanilla! They did an amazing mix-in with this flavor and Oreos, a salute to the Mexican free-tailed bats that live under the Congress Street Bridge (see what they did there?). Loved the movie trivia questions on the chalkboard, and... More
