Something different for a movie

I really enjoyed the concept of Alamo Drafthouse. Although The Ritz is a bit older, and needs some updating, the service and comfort was awesome. Our server was really friendly. We ordered the loaded fries which were not very good, kind of cold and the melted cheese was kind of hard and the whole... read more

It was our first time going to the Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theater. We went to see a classic...Thin Red Line....best part was that the Storyboard Artist for the movie is a Austin Local and spoke before and after the movie. Great insight into the movie. The food was good for the price and reasonable for inside a movie theater...its not... More

The best cinema experience I've had. Unique, fun, relaxed and surprisingly great. The relaxed and easy going set up of in house dining while watching the movies on the big screen is a must for everyone. The food is amazing as is the drink selection. Staff are cool and quick to serve without hardly an interruption to your movie night.... More

I'd read about the Alamo theaters and couldn't wait to visit them during SXSW 2015. The Ritz is located on 6th street and super cozy. Staff was attentive and friendly. Seats are large and comfortable and the film was bright and sounded great. Going to an Alamo theater is a quintessential Austin experience not to miss.

This is a smaller, older theater, but boy is it loaded with character! The screen I saw was not huge but it was still a joy to see a movie here. Seats are large, comfortable, and reserved when you buy your ticket. The projected film was sharp and bright, and the sound well-balanced. Wait staff circulate to take food and... More

We went to see The Interview at the Alamo Draft House Ritz Theater on 6th Street. I got the balcony seating for two. There are only a couple of big leather recliners up there and it was a super cool experience. The seating included parking so it made the whole thing a no brainer. We had some excellent snacks and... Theatre seating with food service. And they make everybody shut up during the show. Pre-show cartoons fit the movie.

This was my first time to the Austin area. My son is a movie buff and loves visiting unique theaters. We decided to pay the upgraded price to get balcony seats. What a great set up! You have nice reclining seats with cup holders and a server dedicated to taking care of your food orders. The only thing I would... More

It was a great show with funny comedians and if you haven't done master pancake it should be on your to-do's. It is technically comedians syncing to the movie and it is funnnny! I also had a meatlovers pizza and some red wine so it made it a leisurely Saturday evening!
