When my husband & I visited Austin for the first time, we ended up at the Alamo Drafthouse twice. It was such a fun experience! One night we saw a popular, blockbuster comedy and the other night we watched a low-budget, Troma-style film. One of the night's we had the full experience by ordering dinner and drinks while we watched... More

Not only was this a great place to watch a movie, but they had great food too. The seats were comfortable and large. There is no talking or texting during the movie so that makes for a neat experience too. There were no advertisements before the movie which was also great...some old random clips, a few trailers and the movie... More

The food isn't five stars, but the experience makes up for it. Before the movie, you are entertained with some great clips and movie montages. The staff was great and the prices are affordable. Definitely worth checking out.

Never thought I would care for the idea of seat-assignments, but it was actually kind of nice to buy my ticket/seat in advance and arrive right on time to my great seats! The service before and during the movie was great, and the prices were very affordable. I had the mozzerella sticks and grilled cheese sandwich, and they were amazing!... More

Went to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show at Halloween night at the Alamo. One of the most surreal (in a great way) experiences I've ever had, wild and crazy. Fun fun fun all around. Food was good and drinking vodca red bull while sitting down for two hours certainly will make the rest of your night... interesting. Rest of moviegoers... More

Having a beer with a film is great. I gave the food another chance Feel me on this. . It would seem that each savory menu item provides you with your recommended daily salt intake x 1 week. It was definitely appetite suppressing. There is something sort of unreal about the burger meat. But the beverages are a sure bet.

We saw Gravity here last night. Fantastic movie and nice to be able to have drinks and popcorn delivered! The menu is varied and pretty affordable considering you are in a theatre. I appreciated the use OD reusable cups and bowels so little litter and trash. This location is right on 6th street so you pour right out into the... More

Unpleasant odor in the theatre. Seating with tables not as nice to see a movie in as stadium seating at other theatres.

Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz. Wen't to see a movie after day three of ACLU 2013 was washed away by rain. They had a very good triple on tap and a solid selection of wines. We got the cheese plate and it was excellent. Old theater with the infrastructure updated but a lot of the original decor in place. Saw... More
