Sunday Brunch at Kerbey Lane Cafe - A Tradition in the Making

We visit Austin several times per year. Sunday mornings are always reserved for brunch at Kerbey Lane Cafe on South Lamar. For over 15 years this has been the plan so I guess it is now a tradition, and a good one at that. Food for Vegans and regular Texans as well. Decent prices, good service and... read more

Kersey Lane always has good food! Breakfast there is my favorite. Good service good atmosphere. Sometimes a short wait but worth it!

I had a complete breakfast and laid down $14 on the counter. This covered eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, coffee, sales tax, and tip. Not the best best breakfast I have ever had, nor the worst. It is close to my home, so I expect to go again, but not often.

My husband always plays it safe at breakfast. I ordered the pozole. It was excellent. I would definitely recommend it!

We used to live in Austin and would enjoy Kerbey Lane Cafe at it's previous location on S. Lamar. They always had funky waiters and really good food. When back in Austin for the 2014 Christmas holidays, we found the new location - and were very disappointed. We ordered Migas, and found them little more than watery scrambled eggs among... More

Since I was a teenager, I've always had a great experience at Kerbey Lane; not a single item on their menu I've ever had has been a disappointment. Have had a lot of great memories at the old, South Lamar location and, while the new location is a well laid out space with a modern, updated feel, it doesn't quite... More

The server, Waters, was excellent. She stayed on top of everything and made the meal better. No glass went unfilled. There were four of us and we ordered the Seasonal French Toast Platter, French Toast. Paris Texas w/ small stack of pumpkin roll pancakes (for me), biscuits, eggs and gravy. My dish was very good. Unfortunately the migas were not... More

Visited the other location during our last Austin visit and it was amazing! This made us super disappointed that the Lamar location turned out so bad. It was extremely hot inside (people were sweating) but we decided to overlook that and wait for a table. The table/chairs were dirty and too close together to fit comfortably (we were knocked into... Breakfast was a real treat. They had many interesting different specials. The fried green tomatoes were delicious! The lemon poppyseed French toast is a regular item and is delicious. The gingerbread pancakes were also very good. Service was attentive and priced reasonably for what you get. The food is much better than average breakfast fare.
