Casual, funky, and good

My brother described Magnolia Cafe as "old style" but I'd beg to disagree. It has a much more current flare. The decor is trendy and funky, the menu up-to-date versions of classic fare. Service was polite and personal. I had shrimp and grits and they were spicy, covered in bacon, and very... read more

Lots of great menu choices, eclectic atmosphere. We ate mid afternoon on a weekday and had no wait - but this place can be very popular.

My wife and I went for breakfast on a weekend and weekday morning. Our last visit we had Diesel (aka Jen) as our server, she was excellent and made the experience that much better. Pancakes are big but light. Don't miss this place but get there before the millennials wake up. PS: Stop in or wait in the gift shop... More

The food trucks are truly amazing and very well known in Austin! HOWEVER, take a break from the trucks!! It is a must that you try Magnolia Café! The food is amazing! There were 7 of us for breakfast! We had everything from traditional waffles to fratta! The wait staff was very friendly! We never felt rushed! Very busy place... More

Traveling to Austin on business and this cafe was recommended by hotel staff for breakfast. I found it to be only average. I ordered the Royal French Toast plate. It's 4 slices of French toast with two eggs any style and choice of bacon, sausage, ham, or fresh fruit. I ordered mine with scrambled eggs and ham. The eggs are... More

My cousin and I tried to get it two days in a row. Came back earlier the second time. It was well worth the 30 minute wait. The food was fabulous and it came out really quickly. We ate inside, but you can also eat on the patio outside. There is a gift store in the building next door. Definitely... More

This was a delicious breakfast! We really appreciated the gluten free menu, and had a hard time deciding what to order! We will definitely go back if we are ever in Austin, again!

So, just go, wait in line and order whatever your heart desires. I guarantee it will be remarkably better than any breakfast you can put against it! I got the Alaskan Benedict, smoked salmon under a poached egg with hollandaise sauce...forget about it!

Any place that serves breakfast all day has to be a good place. Loved the fish tacos, enchiladas and eggscape breakfast. The breakfast portions are huge. If you can't manage the entire portion of queso and chips, ask for some queso on the side - because you definitely have to try their queso. Theres almost always a wait on weekends,... More
