Dinner with friends

What a unique place withe good food and an atmosphere to remember. We had excellent service and food was delicious, did not take long and delivered quickly. After dinner we shopped next door.

We had driven past the Magnolia Cafe a few time on South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas and decided to give it a try. We truly enjoyed the place. The service was great, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere is so "Austin." My wife had the Magna Cristo which was very good with home fries and I had the Chicken... More

This is a special Austin place, but not just because of its food. There is nothing wrong with the food, some is pretty damn good, but that is not what makes Magnolia special. It is one of those places that defines a city. It is open all the time - day and night. It is frequented by all kinds of... More

Have been here a few times over last few years visiting from South Louisiana. Food quality always good. Portions really too large though. Blueberry pancakes are loaded with berries and pecans. Wonderful! The Magnolia Omlette has avocado tomatoes and cheese with yummy creamy lemon sauce that is a taste treat! Never ending cups of coffee and friendly staff very attentive.... More

On a Thursday morning in February, this place was buzzing - yet we still managed to get a car Park right outside. I love it when there is a newspaper vending machine right outside a diner so that you can grab a paper to relax and read over breakfast. Step inside, and we were immediately warmly welcomed. We sat at... More

The pancakes were delicious and so was the bacon. This place has a large variety of options (including vegetarian). My husband was disappointed in his omelet. Coffee was good. came away expecting more.

This is what I call a "down home" eatery. Trendy, patterned oilcloth type table coverings in various patterns; mostly booths as I recall. An interesting mix of Capitol "suits" customers, combined with every other type of citizen/visitor. I particularly appreciated that Smaller Portioned Items were Available on the Menu. I only had breakfast here - twice. Not fancy, way better... More

Bit of a wait (it was Valentine's Day), but it was worth it! We had Flaco Tacos, Love Migas and peach buttermilk pancakes. Delicious food, varied menu, kitschy decor, attentive staff, fun crowd. Great start to our ATX vacation!

Liked that we got in during a holiday lunch time, without to long a wait. It did seem to take a while before we got the attention of our wait person. The food was excellent, could have gluten free, vegetarian, etc. and good size portions.

When you hear the saying, " Keep Austin Weird", Magnolia Café does. Very eclectic interior with great local art on the walls. I had the ham & cheese omelette & my Wife had the Royal toast - French toast with eggs & bacon. Both were great, the French toast has a lot on cinnamon on it. The service was excellent... More
