Perfect meal for a late arrival into Austin

Food was lovely and fresh, beers cold and service good. Got into South Austin late (9:30pm) after a day at the outlet malls - walked to SOCO, and on recommendation from our hotel, dropped into Magnolia Cafe for dinner and a few beers. Both had Tacos which were lovely, tasty and fresh... Even... read more

Visit here every chance I can when I visit Austin. Food is organic, local if possible and reasonably priced. I always get the apple juice, organic, fresh and ohhhh so tasty. Everything I have tried over the years has been very good. Don't think you can go wrong.

Good food, better people-watching. Club sandwich huge; fish tacos very spicy. Kitchen slow on a weeknight. But we loved the neighborhood and the casual funky vibe.

Can't find anything bad to say about this place. The server was friendly, and the food was delicious. T Rex Omlette was fantastic! We went on a Saturday at 8:30, and we are glad we got there when we did. A line formed halfway around the building in no time!

We came across this place by chance as it was on the walk in from our apartment to SoCo and the city. We ended up eating here for breakfast on all 4 mornings we were in Austin. On 3 of those mornings I had the Flaco Taco - scrambled egg, avocado, bacon and cheese topped with salsa - superb. My... More

We had breakfast at Magnolia recently while on vacation. I'd been curious about it because it looked busy just about every time I drove by. Breakfast was ok; nowhere near as good as other places we ate during the trip (Puckett's in Memphis!). The food was barely warm when it arrived at the table; the 'spicy' migas were bland, which... Good down-home cooking in a funky, comfortable environment. Your first trip there will seem like you're dining in an old favorite. Good food, good service, reasonable prices. There can be quite a wait, so start off in the gift store next door and browse while waiting for your table. Menu is not extensive, but enough varietiesvwherevyou don't have to order... More

Magnolia South is just a fun atmosphere, not only for people watching, but the food is just fabulous. Appears this institution is open all day, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, whatever you want at any time. On this business trip, I had dinner which consisted of a turkey rueben sandwich. Fabulous! Service very attentive. Has the dive diner appeal with... More
