Texas style BBQ with a Reb Barn Dancehall motiff

The BBQ is authentic, and for a chain, the environment is fairly authentic too. That means no frills, cafeteria service, with soda and fixing bar, help yourself style. The meat, selection and style are pretty good, not famously, but Texas good. You can see the prep happen behind the checkout for... read more

We went in the afternoon, between lunch and dinner, and it was not crowded. Quick service, lots of choices. The BBQ itself was good; brisket was very tender and rib meat melted off the bone. The side dishes were ok... So although it was good, we are not compelled to go back if we wanted BBQ again. We would probably... More

Our family of seven decided that we wanted to try a little bit of everything at Ruby's one very rainy afternoon. We were going to sit on the covered patio but the weather forced us inside. We ordered the brisket, ribs, sausage and barbeque chicken and sides of beans, mac and cheese, and corn on the cob. The food was... More

I am not one to complain or even to take the time to write a review. However, just tried to have a nice dinner with my family while on vacation and had not only the worst BBQ but one of the worst meals I have ever had out. I had to wait longer for my plate then the rest of... More

I don't mean this to be a backhanded compliment, but I think Ruby's has some of the best sides for a BBQ joint in Austin. The sliced brisket is very good, always tender and cooked just right. But their beans have a spicy flavor that is above and beyond the plain old pinto beans commonly served. And their potato salad... More

We ordered a fairly large portion for 30 people. Ribs, sausage, brisket, sides. I gave it a good/avg rating. Most of this was because the meat was not very warm. Granted, it was a good 30 min from pickup till we sat down to eat. Depending on how long the brisket was cut, it could have been a long hour.... More

Was on the hunt for the best BBQ in Austin and decided to check out Ruby's. Walked a good 20 blocks on a rainy Monday to get there. Decent BBQ. Nice presentation and very helpful and friendly staff. The ribs were the tastiest but the chicken and pulled pork needed more flavor.

Excellent service and delicious BBQ. Joey at the counter super pleasant and helpful in ordering. Huge, old school smoker out back...you can tell everything is prepared with love.

This is my kind of eatery. Good food, decent prices, and loads of atmosphere. Just over a month ago, I made my first trip to Texas, and discovered Texas BBQ. And i'm hooked. On my second trip, we drove past Ruby's, and said, let's give this a try. Inside, it looks like it may have been a feed warehouse in... More

We had a platter for two. There wasn't enough meat for my partner so he ordered another 500g of ribs. It was delicious though! Cannot fault. The price was not bad either.
