Fast service, good food.

The BBQ was very good, ribs a bit dry but we were there for a late lunch 3:30. The coleslaws were very good (tried both types). Mac n Cheese was good too.

Wonderful barbecue with excellent side dishes. Ribs were to die for. Baked beans were delicious and very spicy. They even have wine !!!

We always enjoy RUBY'S BBQ, a small "old fashioned " place where you order at counter, with lots of choices and daily specials. BBQ brisket price is also less expensive, but very good, and I like that they have different types of potato salad and cole slaw. Tried the banana bread pudding... it was great. Definitely a favorite place near... More

The barbeque here is relatively good although not really outstanding. It is reasonably priced. They offer few side dishes. You order at the counter and the service is quite fast.

Very nice place, nice atmosphere, friendly service and the food was good especially the brisket. Salads were tasty. I'd eat here again.

BBQ places are all over Austin and Ruby's was close to us for lunch. Fairly busy but not two hour waits like some popular BBQ. They serve the food on waxed paper with white or brown bread and pickles. I'm told sliced bread and pickles signify a true BBQ restaurant. Our lunch prices were fairly priced with a choice of... When ever I feel like bbq, I go to Ruby's because they do it great. I love ribs, and they make them very well. Good flavor, cooked just a tad bit rare (the way it should be). Also exceptional service.

So my husband eats meat and I'm a vegetarian. I decided to tag along with him so he could enjoy some Texas BBQ. I order the vegetarian frito pie and the vegetarian jambalaya. I barely stomached the frito pie and the jambalaya wasn't edible. The frito pie tasted like dish washing liquid. Maybe they cut up my vegetables in the... More

Recently visited Ruby's country store and Barbeque and I must say I was very impressed. As we had not been there before they have a ritual where they welcome newbies with cheering and sample of their most famous cuts of meat. It's all served on plain paper and the tastes of both meats and side dishes were excellent I would... More

Great meal with my out of town parents. They love brisket and we are vegetarian. The jambalya was very tasty for us, and they enjoyed their brisket sliced and on a sandwich.
