The real thing

A friend and I found this and tried it out. Great atmosphere, quiet dining and the Chinese food was authentic. Service was excellent. Egg drop soup delish and egg rolls freshly made. We shared sesame chicken and couldn't finish it. Servings were plentiful.

A quaint, out of the way restaurant in north Austin, with really good Chinese food and fabulous service!

The three of us went there for dinner. The food was good, very typical Americanized Chinese food, with lots of fried stuff, strong sauce and color. The quantity was quite large. Nothing stands out.

The Homemade Egg Rolls are so tasty. They recommend for you to wrap it around with Cilantro, lettuce then dip it in a sauce. Best eggrolls I have ever tried. I had the Chicken Almond fresh tasting the sauce is great. The service is good didn't want for nothing. I'm so glad we found it. I will come back for... More

We've eaten a few times at this restaurant. It's always been good. The service is efficient, the food is freshly made, and brought to your table fairly quickly. I knew what I wanted today, but wasn't familiar with some of the names of the meals. Our server quickly told me exactly what dish would suit me. She was right on... More

Did not like the wonderful chicken. It was really sesame chicken. Too much breading and fried too hard. Sauce was too sweet. Hot and sour soup was so so.

Casual neighborhood Chinese restaurant that offers consistently well-prepared dishes. Clean interior with friendly service. Our family favorites: Steamed dumplings are made by hand -these are not the same as the wontons in the soup. These dumplings have wrappers made by hand with a doughy-exterior with yummy pork/veggie interior. Note: You can call ahead and order these in advance since the... More

After going through dining options for our short Austin getaway before starting out for lunch, I checked out area options. This one stood out in the few reviews that were available. After my wife & I were nearly finished, she said, "well, you picked a winner with this choice. The meal included an egg roll, soup and entre for just... More

Being quite a distance from my favorite Chinese restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, I feel quite at home at The Twin Lion. I love Chow Fun (wide rice noodle), my staple whilst visiting the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, I had the Beef Chow Fun which was perfect, not dry nor flooded heavily with gravy. The won-ton soup... We eat here a lot and find that the food is consistently high in quality and in taste. Wait staff is excellent and attentive. Their egg rolls are some of the best in town along with their hot and sour soup. Their entrees are not expensive(in the 7-8 dollar range), but provide a lot of quality for a small price.... More
